re: Horse-tripping ban at Mexican themed rodeo in USA - gorillacoco
i watched the video and i still can't tell exactly what's going on... most of the horses still kept their feet? so are they trying to trip the horses or trying to catch them by roping their hind feet? if the intent is to trip the horses it seems unnecessary. if the horses sometimes trip while bei...
LOL at healthcare transparency. First no one pays this. Honestly no one. This is what is charged not what is paid. Insurance companies have contractuals so they don't pay that. Those with no insurance will get a bill for that but won't ever pay. I would take the numbers you see there and mult...

re: Which human being has made the biggest impact on human history? - gorillacoco
Well considering the Christian religion has been the bedrock foundation that Western Civilization has been built on for the past roughly 2000 years, I say that alone is far and away more significant than Genghis Khan and his empire that is nothing more than a footnote in history today compara...
Gengis Khan is a very important figure in history. But to say his impact on history is bigger than that of Christ, is absurd.
Please elaborate how western culture was altered more than the Mongolian conquering of the Asian continent....

re: Which human being has made the biggest impact on human history? - gorillacoco
I would have to agree that Jesus was the most influential historical figure in western history. This is still overshadowed by the population and culture of Asia which far outweighs all of western civ....
wut? The crusades, Charlemagne, Constantine, the fall of the Roman Empire, the Vatican, Martin Luther, the 100 Years War, the 30 Years War. I mean damn, the list goes on and on and it all goes back to Jesus being crucified as the genesis of all of it. And I'm not a Christian fwiw.
...
So even GK, who either defeated people's or protected them based on some form of religious belief, protection from those with religious belief, or destruction of those with religious belief, is impacted by a ln originator of one of the most widely followed religions.
Another honest question: khan conquered Asia. Cool. How did that resonate throughout history?
By replacing the rulers of china, India, and Persia with Mongolians, who were from a completely different culture and way of life....
The fact that you are so confident about this statement makes me not want to even try.
Always amusing when people vacate an argument without presenting any evidence. The funniest part is that Jesus' effect on the history of human political events is actually unimportant (ETA: reli...
Yep. Like I said, the answer has to be a religious figure. I'd agree it's subjective beyond that.
That's exactly why it doesn't have to be a religious figure. Those guys are more or less interchangeable as far as actually affecting the real events on the ground. That's why someone ...

Meh. If people weren't Christian there would be another religion in it's place, and a lot of other religions are also amenable to the development of western culture....

re: Which human being has made the biggest impact on human history? - gorillacoco
Ghengis khan. Sorry but there's really no other answer. A lot of rulers used Christianity as a justification for their actions but the majority of them would have done what they did anyway. Ghengis single handedly reshaped the anthropological legacy of all of Asia and the Middle East. And part of Eu...
