re: Durable waders for hunting and maybe fishing? - gorillacoco
since they fit so much better they don't get caught on sticks and stuff
And by this I mean: since they fit snug against your leg, there isn't very much loose material to snag on stuff....

re: Durable waders for hunting and maybe fishing? - gorillacoco
I switched to stocking foot waders this yr with wading boots. They are cheap as frick but since they fit so much better they don't get caught on sticks and stuff. You're pretty tall tho so idk about the crotch. I probably put 20 miles in this yr on my waders and I didn't have a single leak except on...

re: What's your favorite restaurant in baton rouge? - gorillacoco
Only time I ate at Does was last yr during restaurant wk with a fixed price menu. The ribeye was really, really outstanding. The bread and dessert and sides were obviously on the cheaper side, as they had clearly gone all-in on the steak. But boy did they hit it out of the park with that steak, a me...

If you like a sweet red sauce, monjunis is your place. If you don't like sweet red sauce tho..... Order something else when you go there. Nice place tho otherwise. Good tiramisu....

re: What's your favorite restaurant in baton rouge? - gorillacoco
Also if I had to pick a Mexican place, Mi Padres in Gonzales has some awesome food. Ambiance could be improved but the food is second to none in Baton Rouge. And this is coming from a guy who lives less than 10 minutes from superior and la carreta....
How's Does in Baton Rouge?
It's a weird combination of a really, really outstanding steak (in my top 5 ever) and very low brow, almost Texas Roadhouse ambiance....

re: Televangelist’s Daughter Posts Video Of Creepy Christ Rave - gorillacoco
I couldn't get it to load either. How can they take down the metal remix? I thought if you edit the video to make fun of it you're protected from copyright under the same guidelines as any parody....

Anyone else think the French "emergency rule" is overstepping their bounds? - gorillacoco
[link=(https://ca.news.yahoo.com/french-pm-defends-emergency-rule-says-terror-threat-124428639--business.html)]LINK[/link] Personally I think it's way overboard at this point. They still have leeway to search people's homes without any warrant. I'd be pretty pissed if a bunch of police officers d...

re: Ancient Greek statue of laptop computer proves time travel - gorillacoco
I can already predict how this will pan out. Clearly it is a wax tablet (even though it looks exactly like a laptop and unlike any known image of a wax tablet). We know no aliens assisted the ancients in doing things they clearly could not do on their own (even though there is ample e...

re: Anyone here do any wild foraging? - gorillacoco
Keep us updated on what you decide to brew with. I'm interested to know and may continue trying out stuff now that duck season is over and I can brew again. In particular, if you find out something you can use as a bittering agent in lieu of (or in addition to) hops I'd love to hear about it....

re: Anyone here do any wild foraging? - gorillacoco
Also, there are absolutely tons of mushrooms on the various WMAs in LA. I'm sure some of them are edible, but I'll admit I've never tried gathering them because of the scare factor. I'm sure there are some (morels in particular spring to mind) that are easy enough to ID that you can do so safely tho...

re: Anyone here do any wild foraging? - gorillacoco
I think the honey locust pods are overlooked. Great flavor. My FIL and I made a tincture with vodka and honey locust pulp and added it to the secondary of an all grain barleywine (albeit on the light end of barleywine, maybe 8% ABV). If you own a barley farm you might be able to boil off enough for ...
