re: Best Shotgun load for turkeys - lv2bowhntAU
But I'm gonna reload 12 ga 3.5 #9 TSS
I wouldn't even bother tenfoe. 3" will be more than plenty to do what you need done. Heck a 3" 1.5 oz 20ga load with 9's has around 500 pellets in it  A standard 2oz 12ga load would have over 700 pellets. That'll take a birds head smooth o...

re: Best Shotgun load for turkeys - lv2bowhntAU
With a 12ga its Mag Blends in the 5,6,7 mix. If I'm carrying a 20ga its 3" Federal HW 7's. I will add that I'm currently rounding up the stuff I need to start loading TSS by next season. A 20ga loaded with #9 TSS will make any factory 3-1/2 12ga load look like a toy when it comes to killing turkeys...

re: Scoping a Ruger American Predator in 6.5CM - lv2bowhntAU
I agree and I love my Zeiss scopes too but they cost more than double the price of the Viper I listed. There comes a point where cost outweighs differences in scopes though. For the money that Viper listed is as good as it gets for that price range ...

re: OB help me pick a scope for new Tikka 308 - lv2bowhntAU
Have you tried out the VX3i?
Only looking outside from inside a store. I have no doubts that some Vortex scopes may have problems. Same as Leupold or any other scope manufacturer can have. But when you break down what you're getting for your money dollar for dollar Leupold is lagging...

re: OB help me pick a scope for new Tikka 308 - lv2bowhntAU
I don't think Leupolds suck but there's certainly lots better scope for your money out there. Show me a Leupold that has remotely close to the glass and features of the Viper I listed for anywhere close to $300...... you can't. For the money of a VX3 you're bordering on what you can buy a Zeiss HD5 ...

Hard to beat this Viper for the money. $299 shipped. Me and my dad went in and bought 4 of them and a few guys at work grabbed a couple a piece [link=(http://cameralandny.com/spec-sheet.html?catalog[name]=Vortex-Viper-6.5-20x50-PA---Mil-Dot-%23VPR-M-06MD-6.5-20&catalog[product_guids][0]=1243759)]Vo...

OB advice for GPS for hunting - lv2bowhntAU
Alright guys I'm ready to bite the bullet and buy a gps. I've been away from hunting national forest lands for several years now, but want to get back to bowhunting and turkey hunting them. The one within minutes of me is 95,000 acres and I've already got turned around in there once before. So what ...

re: Picked up SBE 3 at lunch today - lv2bowhntAU
This just isn't true.
I agree 100%. Is there a difference? Yes. But not near as much difference as gas gun fans would like to have folks believe. I've owned or own both and the difference in felt recoil is there but it is minimal difference. I always laugh at the folks that say their...

I agree Tiger. First time I let my oldest actually shoot a real deer rifle I was so worried about the recoil that I never mentioned to her about the loudness. She was way more bothered by the sound than the recoil...

re: Little baw and a 243 - lv2bowhntAU
I'm not sure why there's such a trend of coddling kids with regards to recoil
Grown arse men flinch when faced with too much recoil. Its even easier for a kid to develop a flinch that takes forever to get rid of. Kids are just like grown ups. Funny thing about recoil is that almost al...

Share experiences of your kid's first kills - lv2bowhntAU
The guys thread on setting a .243 up for his boy got me thinking about my oldest girl's first deer. I don't think I've ever seen a thread on here talking about our experiences with our kid's first deer or ducks or any other critter. Figured we could share some of those experiences bc let's face it t...
