I've had left over fried chicken plenty of times after being left out overnight.

You'll survive.

I personally wouldn't mess with it. Then again, I took 2 micro biology course in college. Chicken and Gumbo left out are both terrifying to me.

I ate gumbo that was left out before and ended up with the squirts for 3 days.

I think chicken if cooked to perfection is alright being left out overnight as long as the temperature in the house isn't too warm.

The op should be able to enjoy his chicken without a problem.

Yes. We all do.
But in re: to the chicken I would de-bone it and give it to the dogs. It takes a LOT of bacteria to kill a dog.

Debone and make a chicken stew or soup with it. The secondary cooking should kill any pathogens in it. The other option is debone and feed the dog.

which part? cetainly not the first statement.

second part. simply reheating the food isnt going to kill all the pathogens/bacteria. if this were the case, why would we even refrigerate the food in the first place?

You're right. The temperature is irrelevant. It would be ok no matter what.

The secondary cooking will kill all of the bacteria but, it won't rid the food of the toxins produced by those bacteria.

I wouldn't eat it.

I would definitely eat it, but then I like to live dangerously. I made some chicken nachos a couple days ago and the leftovers were on the counter all night. I had them the next day for lunch and I'm still alive. They sat out for about 17 hours.

Well I'm heating up chicken breast #1 right now. If I don't post tomorrow, you'll know I kicked the bucket
