I am really sad that I won't get to watch one of the most exciting players in LSU history, and really sad that TM7 made a decision(s) that cost him a chance at the NFL this season and affected our national title chase.

but i'm proud that Les Miles has the stones to kick him off the team, if he was really breaking team rules.

after seeing what's happened with coaches all over the country recently, including Penn St. It makes me think the LSU program is in good hands.

LSU's defense was fine without Mathieu last year, and no doubt, there is an athletic cornerback ready to play the wildcard role in the defense.

As for TM7 I hope he turns it around. He was one of my favorite players to watch all time, and is one of the most instinctive footballers i've ever seen.

Sad day.

I guess but nobody wins in the end. Program still takes a blow. Coach takes a blow. Player takes a blow.

this is infinitely bigger than Perrilloux.
Mathieu was a proven commodity, and one of the most highly publicized players in LSU history.

Les Miles is a great man, no doubt. Best coach in LSU history. Major props to Les.

I'm gonna stop short of praising Miles on this one right now. This was a school and team rule he broke, so if he was kicked out of school, it really had nothing to do with Miles.

Losing a cb is never bigger than losing a starting qb. You are overreacting.

Surely you jest.

RP was the next coming at QB, ready to take over the reigns. Kicking RP off the team cost LSU at least 2 good years and we get the JL/JJ debacle.

Being the most highly publisized and the most important player to your team aren't necessarily the same thing.
