Someone mentioned the potential for multiple undefeated teams this year aand I loked into it a little deeper. This is pretty crazy. There is a very real possibility of the following teams being undefeated at the end of the season:

LSU (this is actually the longest shot due to schedule, but it's possible)
Ohio State
Michigan State (doesn't play tOSU and no Big 10 Championship Game)
Oregon
Boise State
TCU
Big 12 Champ
(Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Mizzou)

I would say that it is likely that you will have at least 4 and potentially as many as 7 undefeated teams at the end of the year!

Playoff, anyone?

I'm pulling for a TCU/Boise State championship (assuming LSU could not make it in). The number of viewers would be a joke and a lot of money would be lost. If this were to happen, no way we wouldn't move to a playoff system sooner rather than later.

At this time of year it always looks like a train wreck yet always seems to work out that the 2 best teams play. (not that I like the system)

To go undefeated we will have to beat the 8th, 7th, 12th, and 10th ranked teams including an extra game(SECCG). We will get in if this happens.

I beleive a playoff would make it even more difficult for a little guy to make the title game versus the current system. In a one off head to head game, it's going to happen sometimes. But you have to pull off 3 or 4 wins in a row against strong compeition is a tall order.

You don't see TCU, Boise State and Oregon going undefeated? What about Nebraska? The Big 12 sucks, I don't see anyone taking down the Huskers. That's 4 right there.

It also isn't a stretch to say that either Ohio State or Mich St comes out of the Big 10 unscathed.

An undefeated LSU would be a stretch. That said, it IS likely that you could have one or more one-loss SEC teams to complicate things further.

most of those teams will beat each other up in the remaining weeks, not to mention the 1 loss each LSU will hand them.

This means most if not all the teams in the SEC could have 2 or more losses.

I doubt they will remain ranked that high.

What sucks is that the other teams don't play anybody

It's early in the season. These teams that look so good now, compared to who's left on their schedule always seem to find a way to lay an egg at some point down the line.

I'd be shocked as shite if all four of those never lay one of those eggs.

That's what I'm saying. Having those two play each other for the NC would just solidify that a playoff system is needed so that these smaller teams will have to play some more competitive games to earn a spot in the championship.

Also, teams could fail to win their conference but get ranked the highest. That's always fun.

That's what he was saying. To prevent undefeated teams in nobody-conferences from ruining the NC game, they would incorporate a playoff system to weed them out.

I like the thought, but doubt it will ever happen(the playoff system, not the TCU/Boise State). If they pit them against each other for the 3rd time in a row...

One loss in a bowl game to a real FBS time doesn't prove much, but it would help. We can only hope they get paired up with some over-rated Big-10 team and get handled.

Yes, I'm biased. I'm an LSU fan what did you expect?

Y.A., I agree with you that it is early and these things tend to work themselves out. However, that hasn't always been the case (ask Auburn). There just seems to be a large number of dominating teams who play shitty schedules this year.

A big one could fall this weekend if Wisconsin upsets Ohio St, and I'm still not sold on Mich St, but I would put $$$ on Nebraska, Oregon, TCU and Boise running the table.

Oklahoma. NU hasn't beaten a quality team in about 10 years.
