re: 71% of teams winning 1st game win the series - ffishstik
No, I actually meant Championship Game. They've only played in 1 championship series and, if you look up the stats, they list elimination games as "Championship" games. Last night was not one of those. ...

re: 71% of teams winning 1st game win the series - ffishstik
Yes, 10 of the last 14 champions won the first game of the series, but out of those, 7 of the 10 had swept their side of the bracket and had their top pitchers available for the finals. Having your top guys available is the key. Also, since we're trotting out stats: - LSU has never lost a champi...

re: How effective can Faedo be on 4 days rest? - ffishstik
He would come in for relief much like Oregon St. tried to do with Drew Rasmussen. He'll only be able to go 30-45 pitches "effectively" he threw a ton on Saturday night.
And that should pretty much be the end of this thread. He could be effective for a few innings, but he would not ...

re: All those for Poche getting an extra day - ffishstik
No way It's all historical odds. Down 1-0 is 4W and 10L
Seriously? No, you're right. The guys in Vegas said that they EXPECTED LSU TO LOSE TONIGHT but win it all, but they're going to change their opinions on that because they lost tonight AS EXPECTED. Has it occurred to yo...

re: Any lineup changes tomorrow? - ffishstik
My only concern with the lineup is Kramer's lack of patience in the leadoff spot. Not saying you move him down, but he has to eat up more pitches and stop hitting into so many first or second pitch groundouts. Make the pitcher work a little and give the others behind you more opportunities to see wh...
yeah, before the game What you got now, down 1-0?
Well, if they thought that LSU would lose tonight but win it all, I'm guessing that they feel about the same. ...

re: All those for Poche getting an extra day - ffishstik
Now, I will say that Coach Mainieri needs to set Kramer down and remind him that as the lead off hitter he has to have more productive at bats. You KNEW going in, shit, Singer said it in the presser, that he was looking to keep the ball down and get ground balls. And Kramer does what Kramer does and...

re: All those for Poche getting an extra day - ffishstik
Also, I wasn't in the dugout, but for those blaming Mainieri for leaving in Reynolds too long, it looked like he wanted to pull him and Dunn talked him into letting him face one more batter. You weren't going to pull him for walking the first one after facing the minimum, but it looked like Paul had...

re: All those for Poche getting an extra day - ffishstik
No the argument is that you have to win 2. Throwing Poche on 4 days rest against one of the best pitchers in America would be a bad move. On short rest, you may get 5 or 6 good innings out of him. That's 2 innings more than what Reynolds gave you. And let's say you lose this game anyway. Then tomorr...

re: All those for Poche getting an extra day - ffishstik
Yeah, the other guys pretty much said it. Pitching Poche on short rest against Singer would have been a monumentally stupid move. Now the roles are reversed for games 2 and 3 and LSU has both the hitting and pitching advantage the rest of the way. I like our chances. ...

re: FLA managed 6 hits against our scrubs - ffishstik
Those guys battled, they are hardly scrubs. Please show them the respect they've earned. That said, I do get what you're saying and, yes, I feel great about our chances. Poche will be ready tomorrow, Hess got some rest, and the boys will be fired up! Lange gets the win and the LSU career strike o...

re: Embassy Suites Party - ffishstik
The one at the Rome airport has the best Executive Lounge I've used
The Cavalieri Hilton in Rome has the best one that I've ever seen anywhere. As for Omaha, I prefer that Embassy Suites. It's a perfect location and the team usually stays there. We just got lucky in 2009. It was...

re: Embassy Suites Party - ffishstik
We stayed there in 2009 and they had a pep rally on Saturday, I believe. It was fun, but the unofficial after party after they won the title was what was crazy. Have some good stories from there, Barrett's and Upstream that night. Damn I wish I was there this year! Yáll have fun and :geauxtige...

re: Gilbert and Hess will pitch tomorrow game - ffishstik
the pitching match up is obviously intriguing, but the key for LSU tomorrow will be at the plate. I believe they'll need 7-8 runs to win this thing. We need a solid 5 from Gilbert, 2 or 3 from Johnny Wholestaff/Newman and 1-2 from Hess. ...

re: LSU Bars and Restaurants in Omaha - ffishstik
I would absolutely not consider Barrett's or Omaha over-rated. You must be hanging out with some boring people, I've had a blast there! Barrett's, though, just understand it's the people and the atmosphere, it is actually a hole in the wall, but I have some great memories there. Upstream Brewe...

re: Who would you prefer LSU to face UF or TCU - ffishstik
Ok, so after the obligatory "let's just beat OSU"...I want it to be LSU vs UF. As of now, we have that whole "tied for the SEC regular season title, but UF was #1 because of the tie-breaker" thing. If LSU beats their asses in the finals and sends them home crying like that other team from Florida in...
