$75 - $100. The exam is not real high they generally get you with the glasses or contacts. My wife recently went ($100) and my son recently went ($75) and we do not have vision in our health plan.

Um....if you're just looking to get glasses and not checking for any eye problems or anything an optometrist is CONSIDERABLY cheaper than an optomologist. The only real difference is one can operate, one cannot.

Optometrist should be able to get you for $50 or less.

The only real similarity is that an optometrist knows how to refract and prescribe glasses/contacts. While they have the ability to treat medical diseases of the eye, if you see an optometrist for your eye care, and he's prescribing you something other than glasses/contacts (i.e., eye drops) for any disease of the eye, you should go see an ophthalmologist to make sure you're being treated correctly.

There is a huge difference between an optometrist and an ophthalmologist, and it involves a shitload more than being able to operate.
