That's a nice looking truck, but $43k is a lot of money for a v6 truck.

The v6 costs more than the v8 fwiw

Yep. New vehicles lose 20% of their value the day it is driven off the lot.... So essentially 20% is thrown away on Day 1

It's not even close to 20%

And who cares what it depreciates on day 1, no one buys a vehicle for a day. After that 1st day depreciation, it really doesn't depreciate any more for quite a while

i have the 2011 chevy ltz crew cab.. already has 80k miles, i dont like going over 100k miles on vehicles. Me and my wife both travel an 45min/hr for work one way each day. I spend $150 week in gas, her caddy cts actually gets really good gas mileage, its the v6 though. I have been looking at the 2014 silverados and will probably end up picking up one by august. The Ford platnium would be the only ford i would get, good looking truck.

Great looking truck. Some guy at the lake last week had one exactly like that and I just couldn't stop staring at it.

As a GMC man, I must say that's a good looking ride. Congrats.

That being said...$43K?!!!!!!!!!!!'

I don't think I'll ever get rid of my truck. Good God, man! I'll be in a Caddy or Town Car if I ever get close to spending that much.
Why are trucks so damned expensive?

I have a 2004 Tahoe z71 package with 150k and a 2005 Camry with 100k. Covers work and play. Both paid for of course. 30 mpg in Toyota beats the hell out of 15 mpg in Tahoe for back and forth to work 50 miles a day.

Our f-150 stays parked at the house, my wife and I both work at the same place, so we bought a volvo s60 that gets 33mpg. 60mi to work 3 days a wk, $60 to fill up, not to bad. I dont know if they have changed the size of the gas tank in the newer ford but i want to say there somewhere around 32-36gal tanks.... costs about $110 to fill up. I almost shite my pants when i filled ours up the first time.

Now that I have one, I don't see myself being without a car again. It sure is nice to not be bouncing around in a giant arse truck and parking 4 miles away because that's the only place you can fit.

As a bonus, my truck stays on hot standby to go to the camp at all times.

Not as bad as I thought it would be. Might have to look into it.
I assume you did it to yours, did it make a noticeable difference?

And thanks for the compliments, I love the truck and would pay that price for it again. Good thing is I have a pretty good job that I drive a lot for. With that driving comes reimbursement that covers my note, fuel, insurance for both of our cars and some left over to put in the bank. And in the end this truck is costing me about $30 more/month than my 2011 lariat was.

I do, however, understand that we are in the minority by buying used, paying cash, and getting almost all of the life out of a vehicle.

I would, but the wife and I both can get vehicles through our corporations and expense it out and depreciate. Can only get that on new vehicles. Works out for us in the long run due to tax bracket. Of course a paid for vehicle is the best. I drive a '08 btw. On the other hand, she always has a new one and keeps her "old" ones.

Nice truck! I got. A 2013 Lariat ecoboost a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I had been looking for a while, and it almost cost more to buy used than it did to buy new- the dealership was giving $11k off the top of all 2013's still on the lot. I drove a V6 and a V8, and the V6 had more pep to it on interstate.

My lariat has almost every option the Platinum has except the HID headlights, fold down running boards and the interior ambiance lighting, but I just replaced the motors for the running boards on my wife's Escalade and without the warranty, they would have been $600 each, so I didn't really want them anyway.

Nice truck. Not my personal favorite brand but, nice nonetheless.

I ordered a 2015 Chevy 2500HD a month ago and am expecting it in the next week or two. Can't wait to get out of the Chevy HD gasser I've been driving.

If the guy can afford it what difference does it make? Some people can afford a 45k truck while others can't. I work my arse off and line driving a nice vehicle. If you like driving a beater that's your choice. I like my air conditioned leather seats!

i agree with this, Some people can afford it and some people put more money in their vehicle because guess what....they are driving it everyday. Some people go eat at expensive restaurants all the time some dont. I dont understand why people hate on personal preference so much.
