Don't believe the depreciation curve sales pitch

The best way to get your money out of a vehicle is to drive her till she almost dies

Most of us trade because we want to but will not admit that it is not the best money decision.

As far new- some of my best deals have been finding low mileage vehicles- there are people in the world who buy new run up less than 30K and trade-

Where did you buy the thing? I have the same truck, bought in May 13 and I only paid 39.

What dealership did you get a Platinum 4WD with ecoboost for 39K? I want to shop there. That is below A plan employee pricing.

43k after TTL? What's the King Ranch edition of that truck going for?

That's a nice looking truck, but $43k is a lot of money for a v6 truck.

To put it into perspective, my friend just bought a 3/4 ton cummins with 60k miles for $32k. It doesn't have fold-down steps and fancy makeup mirrors though.

I hope your truck last 20 years, because that's about what you need it to last in order to justify that price in my opinion.

Not sure. The sticker on the KR I looked at was 52 but I really wanted the folding running boards so I didn't haggle at all on the KR.

That's really nice but, my gosh that's a lot of money for a pickup truck. It just shocks me how expensive trucks have become these days.

So 3k less than the platinum. I can assume a king ranch could be had for around 40k after TTL?

43K for a half ton is crazy but seems to be the norm these days.I just bought a 2014 Chevy 2500HD CC LT 4x4 with the 6.0 for 37,xxx with GMS pricing and rebates. I likes to drink more fuel and I contemplated getting the half ton because of that.I got this truck cheaper than a half.

I'll tell you what's crazy...60-65k for an F-250. Test drove one just for the hell of it a couple of years ago when I was in the market. Power for days but at around 800 bucks a month...that ain't happening. Crazy thing is, you see them everywhere. So people are shelling out the dough.

That's why I plan on owning a car from now on. Trucks are stupidly expensive. You can thank those who prioritize luxury over functionality.

If the guy can afford it what difference does it make? Some people can afford a 45k truck while others can't. I work my arse off and line driving a nice vehicle. If you like driving a beater that's your choice. I like my air conditioned leather seats!

Truck prices have gone full retard, but it's the people who "need" a truck to get groceries and haul the occasional 2x4 or a flat of tomato plants from lowes that have driven up the prices. I read that by 2016 or maybe 2015 models Ford will offer more V6 engines than V8s in the 1/2 tons. They are even developing a 2.5 liter ecoboost, cause you know people buy trucks to get good gas mileage these days. frick. Rant over.

Beautiful truck. I'd love to have one, but it would kill me to spend $80/week on gas. I need a shorter commute.
