So what's the advantages of a 12' vs 14' besides more room? Does the extra length add more stability?

I think the longer ones track better, ie they stay going in one direction longer with less steering.

Shallow rivers and creeks

Shorter lighter boat great for small waters. No need for a 14' boat there. I would consider a solo canoe. More room for gear, and not worried about water over sides from waves. Dad has a Mohawk Solo 13' that is perfect for that.

Wow, nice boat. I'd be afraid Alx would make me paddle him around while he fished. Sumbitch is always back boating me.

I fish out of a Manta Ray 14 most spots. When I have to haul a long way, poke boat. You could easily get away with a canoe.

Why don't more people just get a canoe? Haul way more stuff for the same or less weight of boat.

Can't go wrong pricewise or featurewise with the Jackson Coosa for fishing rivers and bayous. Wouldn't be my first choice for bigger water though.

Ride 115 would work well too, as would a canoe/kayak hybrid such as the Native Ultimate 12.

Get out to the demo days to see what works for you.
