The best corn I've ever had at a boil was put in frozen at the point where you turn off the fire. Does not get soggy, and gets just enough seasoning. Helps cool the water a bit too.

That's the only way I've ever seen it done
Put it in about 30 seconds or so before turning off the fire

thats the only way I do it.

I boil everything else for 13 min before I put the crawfish in, then boil another 3 min with the crawfish, put the corn and mushrooms in and let soak for 22 min.

done deal

100 or 120 quart. Anything smaller and you won't be boiling whole sacks.

Exactly. Some people add ice to help the bugs absorb the spice. The corn is basically pre-cooked, so you're just trying to get it hot. Dropping it in right after you kill the fire is perfect all around.

Out of curiosity, and because I have a couple empty kegs lying around, I looked up the capacity of a keg. 62 qts. Seems kinda small, do you fit just the sack of crawfish and have to do the other stuff separate?

Pineapple, cauliflower, etc? I'm sure you can get them in it, but I'm not trying to deal with boil-over.

A 40lb sack is a tight fit. Only use it when im doing a sack for a few people and ill do the other shite on a seperate burner in another pot. Works fine and you look like a badass doing it.

My dad recently got a 100qt pot and it's awesome compared to the 40 qt we were using. 2 weekends ago we threw 4 dozen crabs along with all the corn, potatoes, etc we could eat and there was still plenty of room.
