re: "White Privilege" explained in one comic

I didn't say it negated your point.

In fact, it emphasizes it.

The extremes of quality of education are wider at the grade school level than it is with your choice of college comparison.

The more I hear about "white privilege" the less I care about "checking" it.

I read elsewhere that college GPA and MCAT score ranges better estimate attrition rates than race, and also that minorities with equal grades and scores had approximately a 30% greater chance to gain admission than their majority counterpart. The article is definitely written on a personal level. He accurately referenced the first link I posted. I didn't fact check the rest of his article because I am lazy, but I include it for completeness of discussion and for where I gained the numbers, though I'll admit they're not necessarily completely reliable, but they're probably accurate. Ignore any personal spin after the numbers are delivered.

The number is definitely more than "3," and plenty of more qualified people miss out. But they're likely a second application away from getting in. Plenty of qualified people are held out. Some of them are held out by race. It's definitely a justified annoyance, but much more than race is at fault.

That is the dumbest thing I've read today, and that's saying a lot because I spent a good part of the day on the rant.

Just read an Op-Ed piece and apparently "White Privilege" has caused "Global Warming" This is according to the author, the Easter Bunny

Ok. To those of you who believe that "white privilege" is the source of most/all inequality, answer this.

I am a white, happily married, successful, young professional. I have 2 young kids who are happy, healthy, and loved. I worked my butt off to get here, and I am doing well enough that I will have no issue paying for their schooling, thru college and/or professional school. And, They know that we expect them to do well.

Please place the following reasons for my kids' (hopeful) potential success:

Individual talent and drive
Stable, happy, 2 parent family environment
Financial stability/resources
White privilege
