Another interesting thing to note is how all of her cited numbers are clearly misunderstood by the author....but the one actually damning statistic about ex-con whites getting the job over straight laced blacks with the same qualifications magically goes unreferenced.

Its just like people crying about SAT scores being higher in higher income comes in spite of programs paying for SAT prep courses for poorer students.
There is literally a cognitive dissonance related to race/class issues. They literally don't consider that it isn't something that is always given, but earned. They just assume that opportunities are solely the result of economic leverage: better schools, prep programs, etc.
It isn't even considered that maybe the average family is higher income because they are SMARTER than the average lower income families.
