Told this story before.

About twenty years prior my current ex asked me why they planted pecan trees in rows. I, very straightforward, told her because if they planted them too close together they would grab each other roots and be pulled down into the ground.

So, 20 years go by and my ex, whom I communicated with very little, calls me at work and is very upset. She hears some group of people talking about pecan trees and she inserts my little bit of wisdom.

What makes it even worse is that she is a very intelligent lady. Yeah, she was mad.

I have to say the worst ones have come, like you described, not because of the original

Had a SO that would complain about a lot of things. One of those people who just seem to be intentionally unhappy.

She's going on and on day after day about topics that seem to make her miserable. Her sister is prettier. So and so at work is blowing a boss and has a boyfriend. The lady next door to her parents is easy.

It's annoying. Anyway she comes home in one of those moods and starts venting again. "Sweetheart. How about not tonight. You always make yourself angry."

She's insulted. We argue a little. I'm trying to stay on the "is this good for you or us?" Line of logic

Fine. She's pissed but sneaky pissed. And moves to a subject to try to annoy me.

"Okay. Girls at work were talking about the hall pass thing." She starts.

"You mean where you can pick anyone to sleep with and your partner has to accept it?"

"Yep." She's clearly enjoying this.

"You know how I think about that. It would end the relationship. You should just break up instead of having a list"

"Don't be insecure." She insisted. "A strong relationship includes forgiveness"

"Fine. Who do you pick?"

She named like Jason Mamoa, Justin Timberlake, and Brad Pitt. Then she asks "Okay. Who do you pick? Oh I bet you're going to pick like that Emily Ratajowski, Charleze Theron, and Margot Robbie."

Nope. I replied. "Your sister, your parents neighbor, and the slut where you work."

It was worth it

Most of these are great because they prevented a nightmare.

I know some women have read this thread but amazingly enough not a single woman or Walt has tried to defend their irrational behavior. Of course their only defense would be the good ol “you made me do it” excuse. I had one that I caught in a lie and she had the frickin ovaries to tell me “you made me lie because I knew you’d be mad” no dummy you knew I’d be mad and wanted to do that shite anyway so you lied about it because you’re a selfish bitch.
