I used my life to buy my stuff. Time is Life.
My stuff is more valuable than someone else's life.
My stuff is more valuable than someone else's life.

everything i own is worth more than someones life if i catch in my house stealing it.
sorry but not sorry. only a piece of shite would break into someones home
now if i catch you stealing off the lawn...sure not gonna shoot you...but you enter my house or our business and try and pull a gun on me or my family....every single thing i own, down to a piece of bread becomes more valuable than your life because at that point....the theif has made the decision that my things are more valuable than my life or his life.
i 100% agree with your assessment.

Thats the wrong question and addressed to the wrong party.
If we're being genuine and honest the question would be for the criminal and would read as such.
What's more valuable to you, your life or acquiring property that doesn't belong to you through criminal means?
See that other question should be ignored altogether because law abiding citizens are not out looking for criminals to shoot however on the other hand.... criminals are out there doing what they do.
It's a classic tactic to just dismiss the decision the criminal makes to commit the crime as inevitable or necessity in order to create the false narrative.

Someone should tell the criminal that before he steals! Apparently they think their life could be worth what they are taking.

To the thief? Absolutely.
To the person making the comment? Maybe?
To me? No. If you’re in my home, I’d shoot you to prevent you from stealing from my trash can.

It's a bullshite argument. The real argument is whether the law was broken. The "stuff" argument is a red herring.

False equivalency is false.

If a criminal assesses that my stuff is worth more than his life, who am I to question their judgement?
Posted on 10/25/23 at 9:00 am to oogabooga68
frick criminals. My stuff is more valuable than their pathetic lives.

Well, is it?
"Stuff" is generally acquired over time with money.
Money for most is made by trading labor, i.e., "time" for currency.
If a POS steals something that you spent years acquiring, laboring at a job you don't particularly care for, that person is in essence stealing part of your life.
Thoughts?
Marxists don't believe in private property rights. That's why they say shite like that.
Thieves are subhuman scum. Their lives are worth nothing.

It's not about my stuff. If I could 100% know they just want my stuff, I probably wouldn't shoot. The issue is I can never know 100% that someone already breaking the social contract will not go further. I live with my gf, soon to be fiance/wife, and I cannot take the same chances that I would if it was just me. I hope and pray I'm never in the situation, but I just cannot take the chance someone could overpower me and/or kill me and get at her. I would, assuming the situation is as described, end the situation with detriment to the invader. Again, hope it never happens, and understand it would greatly affect me afterwards.

Most of the time, this stupid argument is used when someone is rifling through your car or shed, not breaking into your home.
I do agree, I'd like to shoot them for stealing my weedeater or drill or something, but I also think, do I really want to go through all the hassle of shooting someone(possible lawsuit, court proceedings, etc) for $200 tool? The answer is usually no.

Life is precious but if someone has proven they are a career thief and cannot be rehabilitated, you have to cage them. That's my take. They shouldn't be killed for it but prison effectively takes them out of society.

Yes this is tried and true tactic of the progressives and if you don't agree "YOU'RE A RACIST"!!!!

Absolutely correct OP. The average working American sacrifices roughly 40% of their waking hours during the healthy productive years of their lives working to sustain themselves and get ahead. If we say that period of life is about 1/2 of a normal human life, then you spend 20% of your conscious time on Earth laboring for those fruits that are being stolen.
I’m not sure at what point the exchange rate flips, but I am very sure one productive life > five criminal lives.

ok, so you see a guy walk up your driveway and start riding off with your bike. You going out like a warfighter and putting this guy down? Whether or not you were in the right wont matter. Your life will be significantly worse from that point on
