What is more valuable: Your "stuff", or the life of a criminal?

It inevitably happens when a lawbreaker is killed by the Police or by intended victim during the commission of a crime.

Someone makes the comment "A persons' life is worth more than your material possessions...."

Well, is it?

"Stuff" is generally acquired over time with money.

Money for most is made by trading labor, i.e., "time" for currency.

If a POS steals something that you spent years acquiring, laboring at a job you don't particularly care for, that person is in essence stealing part of your life.

Thoughts?

The criminal chose to make his life less valuable when he decided to steal my stuff. Stop rationalizing crime.

If the criminal didn’t want to find out my answer, he should have stay away from the stuff I earned.

Notice the criminal is described in the past tense.

Thats the wrong question and addressed to the wrong party.

If we're being genuine and honest the question would be for the criminal and would read as such.

What's more valuable to you, your life or acquiring property that doesn't belong to you through criminal means?

See that other question should be ignored altogether because law abiding citizens are not out looking for criminals to shoot however on the other hand.... criminals are out there doing what they do.

This is a typical liberal gotcha argument that should be shut down immediately and not even entertained.

The other part of this is the possibility the criminal is going to kill you while trying to steal your stuff. He must be eliminated.

I would not kill someone trying to steal something like a tv or some other replaceable item.

But if they are in my house in the middle of the night I'm shooting first and asking questions later.

I think people believe that it's easy to kill someone and just go on with your life as if it never happened. I think the bigger question is; what is worth more, your stuff at that time or your mental and emotional state 10 years later

My stuff. I’ve worked hard for it. We should be able to stop a pos thief in their tracks. That includes that garbage roaming the streets breaking bro vehicles in driveways, too.

If someone is trying to break into my house while my family
Is home, I have no problem killing said person. Criminals are scum. There are animals lives I value more than criminals

I hope I never have to deal with that, but in the heat of the moment no one is thinking past stopping the threat from someone who broke into their home.

Don't even walk up at night and try my door handle. Those lights that come on have a cam attached, that tells my phone to tell me.

He should have thought of that before he tried to take my stuff.
