Same way you would interact with a human doctor, except the computer wouldn't be preoccupied with a bunch of other shite. I can't do it justice but Google the software that's in development, is definitely the future.

My greatest fear is that a wave of Luddites will impede progress with fear mongering against the use of such technology. A lot of people stand to lose their jobs, but it will be an overall benefit to patients.

How does a doctor?

Family medicine docs are becoming less and less common.

A tangled web we have weaved , no clue what the answer is , but to look at it from another prospective , dr Andrews (world renowned orthopedic surgeon with decades of experience ) does not get one penny more from Cigna to perform an ACL reconstruction than does a forgien trained newly licensed ortho performing their first case I think we will see more and more of the MD VIP stuff, and why not ,

This guy gets it.

Every doctor in every state is not worth the exact same amount that some pencil head decides in his 9-4 office job.

To get the best physician in the future, you will pay accordingly.

It is how it should be.

Maybe. I would be interested to research it more. Still I feel like intuition plays a huge role. Diagnostics under a controlled environment might work but not when a pt is acutely ill. The resistance to EMR was incredible this will be off the charts.

part of the future is the ensuing battle to kill older people. in 10 years the liberals will be crying its the right thing to do (for whatever reason), and they will eventually win. Letting old people die in the hospital, by not feeding them, or simply killing them with drugs, will be the norm.

I hope you're wrong but you're probably right. The resistance to electronic medical records is infuriating.

I do those things to help me better manage difficult people /situations (like vegans spouting off absolutes ...)

The things I listed sound very granola, but they are extremely effective tools.

I doubt it will be that drastic but end of life care must be discussed. Too much waste of resources for the last 10 days of life....

No one knows where it ends, but you just described the next step - a split system. One system will be for those with means and one for those without, just like Private Schools, Stadium Club Seats, VIP Tours of Disney, First Class seats, etc. Everyone gets access to the basic services, but some people pay for premium service.

An ugly one.

The US spend $8,608 per person on healthcare costs in 2011. There are problems all over the place, and although this thread will likely blame the government or liability issues, the employees in the healthcare sector share some of the blame for those costs too.

It's called futile care. And it's a waste.
