Not trying to be a dick, but Google search the other threads on this. There is a lot of good info on there.

Don't shite all over taking meds. You don't want to take them, but if your quality of life is suffering, you need meds. At my worst I had a near panic attack and had to leave a driving range. Hitting golf balls was/is probably the most relaxing thing I have as a "go to." I knew then that it was over. I left a bucket of balls and called my wife.

Be afraid of alcohol. Nothing works better (for me) than a couple beers. That is a slippery slope however, and there is no worse panic attack than a hungover panic attack. A good hangover will even throw depression on top of your anxiety. Which is always cool

Lexapro will get you chemically correct in the head, then you will feel like exercising and generally want to do things!

I believe so too. ANY exercise. Whatever it takes to get you moving. If it is so bad you are incapable then you need meds. When it works get moving. Then make yourself do it every day.

As others have mentioned exercise cures a lot of things way better than any medication.

hard aerobic exercise of your choice, or a nice long fast hike in the woods.

Have you tried a float tank

I feel like the only people who recommend float tanks are people who own float tank businesses. seems like you could do the same thing in a tub with the lights out.

I can't stress enough how true this is. Alcohol works the best at first, then it can become the only thing that works. Ask your doctor about SSRI drugs (Prozac, etc.). These can be a long term solution without the side effects of dependency and addiction (like alcohol, benzos, etc.)

This is so true. I suffered with this for years. Drinking will ultimately just make anxiety worse and become the source of your anxiety problems.......

Float tanks have water that is higher in salt (like the dead sea) so that it make floating much easier.

I don't have panic attacks but sometimes I get really irritable and feel somewhat overwhelmed

I suffer from the same shite. I exercise a lot. When stuff piles up at work, I close my door and breathe deeply for a half minute. Got so bad yesterday that I went to the parking garage, made sure no one was around, and just let out a guttural scream. That cured it. Relaxing music helps too.

Cut the caffeine. Switch to decaf to avoid withdrawal headache.

I have panic attacks. I don't get them as often now, but when I do get them they suck.

Exercise has only helped a little, to be honest.

I think it just comes down to the fact that I hate my life.

What works for me is to sit in a quiet room, close my eyes, and take slow, deep breaths. My wife told me I should start doing it, but I thought it was fad science.

It tends to work for me.

That doesn't sound like anxiety, it sounds like stress. I bet you don't sleep enough/ or well due to stress, and are irritable from lack of quality sleep.
