If you were in FL a course like the UC would be 30k to join and $1200/month. Believe me I have looked. 75k gets you a membership to lake nona, and I was told upwards of 150K to be a member at isleworth and interlachen

Damn I need to get in the golf course business. Thats insane to pay 75k and up to be a member. But I guess if people will pay, then why not charge that much?

Do you realize how expensive the land is in FL? Property taxes? construction? upkeep?

ETA: and those fees are not indicative to most courses. the courses listed there are home courses of like half the PGA Tour. When Tiger Woods lives off the back of the 16th green you can fill a 1,000 person membership at $150k/pop in a day.

UClub is a hell of a deal if you play enough though. It is the nicest course in the area. The practice facility is to notch, and they are slowly losing members due to the difficulty, which means less crowds

all depends on your market clientele. Those clubs market to the touring pros and the 1% of america. I couldn't even imagine the initiation fee at last weeks tour stop Rivera CC in Pacific Palisades, CA. I assume 200K plus

It's all relative to the club. If you host a huge tourney that brings in loads of cash your fees/dues can be minimal.

example:
Augusta is rumored to have a $25k/year dues
Eat Lake is like $50k

You would expect those courses to be astronomically higher, but they each host 2 of the largest tourneys of the year that generate millions in revenue for the club allowing them to be extremely exclusive, and very cost efficient (to their clientele).

It's in St. George. You have to like it.

And lolz. It's arguably one of the three best courses in the state.

I agree with the above. I also don't think 4k at UC is an unreasonable fee.

I wouldn't fork out for a membership there.

If I'm paying to be a part of a club, I don't want it's defining characteristic to be "It isn't bad"

Money Hill is way nicer.
Beau Chene is nicer and you get 2 courses.

I'd make the causeway commute to a club as well

I've read Augusta dues are closer to 10k. They take in millions from TV coverage. That's why the food at the tourney is so cheap

Yeah it's for sure low.

It's low enough that I would stroke a check without thinking twice if that letter ever arrived on my doorstep.

ETA: Scratch that. I don't care how much the dues at Augusta are, I don't care if they're $1M. If that letter ever came, I'd finance the thing, leverage my house, car, kids...

Is awesome and upkeep is excellent. Just because you can't play there don't hate on it.
