U club is worth the price as it's a drop in the bucket compared to some of the nicer clubs in the BR area, CCL,BRCC. U club pool is terrible but the other amenities makes up for it. The course is one of the best I've played. Guess that's why it's almost impossible to get a decent tee time at this place.

Private golf would be WAY better in Baton Rouge if Santa Maria was a private club. UClub is the only private option for somebody who doesn't want, or can't afford, to pay the high prices at CCL and BRCC. If Santa Maria was private, it would likely be at a similar price point to UClub and both clubs would have less play, which can be an issue at UClub because it is the only game in town at the price.

I can't believe someone said I was high for saying Oakbourbe was one of the best courses. They have the best greens in the state year in and year out.

Then why are they getting ready to strip them and go with a different grass?

To me I'd go squire, Oakbourbe, Uclub, Le Triomphe as my top 4.

Oakbourne is not in the top ten IMHO .. Maybe not top 20.

It's a great country club but not a good golf course ..

They are changing to the Mini Verde ultra dwarf because their Tifeagle is so damn grainy. For you to call their greens the best in the state is laughable. Take a guess at which golf courses in BR have the MiniVerde Bermudagrass.

I've been there and watched one of my friends play in a college tournament but never played it. It is nice as shite but I only put the top courses I've played.

For the Evangeline Fourball their greens are always perfect.
