I have played several times. Nothing special. Its a typical BR course that is built on a tiny piece of property.

BR area course rankings IMO

1a. The Bluffs (in peak condition, place is a roller coaster ride in terms of play as well as condition )
1b. UClub
2. CCL
3. BRCC
4. Santa Maria
5. Beaver Creek
6. The Island
7. Copper Mill

1,000. LSU

I realize there will be a lot of disagreement here. Hell I like Beaver way more than most people.

if santa maria could be in the condition of CCLA, it would be the best course in the city imo

I give it props for layout, condition, and playability.

I just don't really enjoy playing it, I don't know why.

ETA: I remember why now, high green fee + crowd(typical clientele) + joke of a clubhouse/practice area

what's wrong with 18? Short par 5 to finish. Has a risk/reward setup?

Members Only. If you're not in with the BR blue blood clique you ain't getting on. You have better luck getting on at CCL.

It's basically a much nicer Oaks or LSU course. Typical BR course, layout, etc. just very well kept and fairly challenging.

I think you are on the money. I have never played CCL, so I can't rank it (so take that out the rankings). If we are talking Bluffs in peak shape, that is without a doubt numero uno. UClub and BRCC are two different courses, and each have their pluses and minuses. I can't put one over the other, so I would go 2a and 2b.

I just wish there was some consistency in the condition there.

Last few years you really don't know what you're gonna get til you hit the tee box.

But when it's firm, and the greens are running hold on cause it's gonna be a ride.

got ya

For some reason I thought you were asking about green fee.

I don't know dues or initiation there, but it's higher than UClub and you can't just apply or buy a membership like UCLub or CCL.

WAT! 18 is one of the best holes on a public course. Risk/reward par 5. Very good scoring opportunity.

brcc is just like ccla. you need two member sponsors, then go through an interview process.

BR "old money". BR is a very cliquey city. There is a group of families in the Bocage area, amongst others, of BR that go way back here and are very tight knit.

This group of families makes up the vast majority of the BRCC membership.

CCL was actually created out of "necessity" by another group of BR "new money" that were not allowed membership at BRCC.

Not the best golf course in BR.

Country Club of Louisiana, hence the 25,000 initial fee

except BRCC's is a little tougher to come by based on my previous post.

I'm not bitter or anything, I play both courses. I have friends that are members both places. And all agree that this is the way it is.
