No you were not. To everyone saying otherwise: If you scheduled an appointment with a dentist, but when you got there no one could speak your language everyone one of you would leave to find a dentist who could communicate with you.

Illegal or not. I can't know for sure, but I can make a pretty educated guesstheir immigration status was not my objection

Maybe you should have just stuck with the fact you don't feel comfortable with people who do not understand English on your property incase there is an accident or something of that nature

If 95% of the dentist community was hispanic and you rolled in assuming they were all illegals and pitched a fit about it, I'm not sure your analogy would yield the same results.

The only way this analogy works is if 99% of the dentists in the area only spoke Spanish. Then yeah, getting pissed off about that is still on you.

How is this even remotely in the same league as a sprinkler system? What a terrible comparison.
BTW, one of the best doctors I ever dealt with was an Indian that I could barely understand. He's great at his job though.

telling them to stop until someone that you can better communicate with is one thing, but losing your shite and threatening to report the owner for "illegal" hiring practices when you have no idea if they were actually illegal is a bit much

The foreman should have been there. You must have been a complete wacko for them not to want to come back...either that or the dude doesn't want your job.
My experience is those laborers will work circles around most Americans (who will most likely charge more and take longer while working on bigger jobs or smoking dope).
