the non speaking laborers are laborers because they just want to be left alone. they can communicate well enough but they want to be left alone. if they do it wrong, you don't pay them until done right, simple as that.

So I'm guessing here's what actually happened:
Some Mexican looking guys showed up to my house to install an organic sprinkler system (top notch), but I could tell by their illegal look that they couldn't talk English so I started shouting some Mexican words that I picked up from the speedy mouse cartoons on TV until they left.

It's kind of amazing the reaction you are getting. You pay for a job, the company doesn't put anyone on the job that can communicate with you to the point that you are assured that you will get what you pay for, but because there is a high probability that these workers happened to be illegal, you are the a-hole.
Who the hell are you to make sure you get what you pay for? It's not like contractors are notorious for not delivering quality if you don't stay on top of them during the project. That almost never happens. Jerk.

Enough English. These guys spoke zilch and the one trying to communicate with me was around 18
I saw greens apes, a different company doing the Bank's property. He was Hispanic and able to talk with me and give me a card. I'm calling him

I use a legal guy but you wouldn't think it by looking at him....Mexican, tatted up and scary looking. That dude can do pretty much everything but speak English but his phone does a fine job of translating. He will work 7 days a week and always be on time.
It's very likely the crew had the same app and just decided they didn't want to work for you.
I've used bigger contractors for roofing etc. They all have Spanish crews.

Exactly. OP sounds like he is angry he couldn't micromanage this crew. That is probably why they fired him. Not because they were offended by his old man rant, but rather because he just sounds like a pain in the arse to work with and not worth their time.
