Looks like Take Em Down NOLA is melting on twitter over Mitch not giving them any praise LINK

Problem is, he just took credit for the hard work of black men and women, the organizers of @takeemdownnahhh That's hypocrisy at it's finest
quote:
In not inviting #TakeEmDownNOLA to his speech, @MayorLandrieu perpetuates the erasure of black narratives that the racist monuments stand 4

For those interested in our take on @MayorLandrieu 's speech as well as next steps, tune in to our press conference today at 4pm Central.
quote:
For now, suffice it to say we were underwhelmed by @MayorLandrieu 's white savior shenanigans & erasure of 6 decades of black led resistance
quote:
Truth be told @MayorLandrieu administration tried to contain if not prevent much of our organizing while going silent on monuments for mths
quote:
Meanwhile the ordinance @MayorLandrieu used to remove monuments was written by our elders in the 90s tho he never acknowledged them for it.

TEDN will implode if they challenge Landrieu.
It's like they didn't realize how he steamrolled his agenda through. Who do they think they are in all this?

Even as someone who thought Liberty Place needed to go and didn't care about Lee or Davis, I love seeing this. PC types always eat their own.
Someone needs to put up a billboard of Cray Cray C-Ray with the caption "Miss Me Yet?"

Not that it matters that much, but regular hardworking, tax paying professionals such as myself will not be spending money in Nola for the foreseeable future. I'd rather spend my money where I live on the Northshore.

This is the best NOLA real estate website to watch. It shows in real time the latest houses that have been entered into the MLS. It a site that I watch to see neighborhood trends for properties that I am looking at buying for investment purposes and right now the number of newly listed (i.e. properties that have gone up for sale) properties in Orleans has surged the last two weeks.

Maybe someone can help me out here, but I don't recall reading, hearing, or seeing any protests of these statues on the news or my previous times in New Orleans. In fact, I can remember Robert E. Lee at Lee Circle was a meeting point for friends of ours in Mardi Gras.
Is this something recent or has there been a movement in opposition of the statues for some time now?
Morial tried to get rid of Liberty Place.
None of the city's black mayors went after the other three.

You do realize that they really did lay the groundwork for this in the 90s

What do ya know, The blacks are starting to see that the democratic mayor could give a shite about them. He just wants their vote, and the taking down of the monuments was all for political gain on a larger SJW scale nation wide. Mitch the Bitch could give a flying F*** about the black people of nola!

Anyone who thought otherwise is an idiot. Just look at the murder rate in the city. Mitch is only in it for political aspirations. He doesn't care one iota about the citizens of NOLA.

So have they had the press conference already? What do they want now?

I'm guessing that Andrew Jackson will be next?
this has probably been mentioned in this long thread but this one has always had me puzzled. Sure, AJ is polarizing, shuttled off the Native in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee to Oklahoma, killed a ton more (Creek, Seminoles, etc) but his ties to NOLA is undeniable. He is the savior of that city, am I right? He took a bunch of hillbilly volunteers from Tennessee and Kentucky, joined up with more volunteers (pirates, Natives) and whooped the shite out of the Brits. Without AJ, Brits control the Mississippi and strategic NOLA, right? What am I missing here? My history of AJ may be off some but the point remains, Mr. Jackson was a bad mother fricker who saved NOLA and he should be saved and revered for all time down there in Louisiana
