I am not saying the "Trail of Tears" was a good thing by any stretch. But we did win versus the Indians...

Laugh now, but the small business owners that are the backbone of this state will continue to move out. Democrats are raping them with taxes and insurance hikes, a good portion of the citizens are unemployable. The schools and infrastructure are complete shite.
Many, and I mean many, good hard working people born in this state have decided to make a better life elsewhere. This has nothing to do with statues. Everything to do with our corrupt government pandering to low life lazy entitled trash.

I haven't been to New Orleans in 15 years. Has nothing to do with statues, though. I am more concerned all the "democrats" murdering and robbing each other.

Yup. Making the city unsafe and pandering to the undereducated will drive away the upper class and the companies that should bring in the tax dollars needed to properly run a city. Great restaurants and tourist attractions need people with means in order to survive. Poor people don't eat at the world renowned restaurants, buy $6 cups of coffee, visit museums, or buy high end art. I may be a tad dramatic when I say this, but New Orleans culture and personality is being depressed by these political movements. Let's just go back to the night the Saints won the super bowl. Didn't matter what color or creed you were. Dancing and hugging in the streets was accepted by everyone.

I wanted all the statues to stay up, but I wouldn't risk going to a protest to keep them up and have what happened to that principal happen to me, but if they threatened Jackson, best believe there would be a lot of people there on his side. Jackson Square and pictures of him in front of the Cathedral are some of the most popular ones in New Orleans.

WDSU alluded in a piece they did last night on this that Mitch Landrieu and contracted with the The Real Meow Meow Liberation Front aka the Professional Party Planning Committee to arrange for a participatory spectacle for the remainder of the remaining monuments. The group is now stating that Mitch Landrieu & the City of New Orleans has paid them including paying for the Hammers & Chisels according to the groups website too.

The blasting of Jackson is ludicrous. Human existence has always been about conquest. On every continent. In every era. When one group wants land, they try to take it. And they either win or lose. The Native American tribes were doing the same shite to each other for millennia. Same shite that the Zulus were doing to their rivals in Africa, after which they sold off the conquered tribesmen to the Americans.
