Maybe someone can help me out here, but I don't recall reading, hearing, or seeing any protests of these statues on the news or my previous times in New Orleans. In fact, I can remember Robert E. Lee at Lee Circle was a meeting point for friends of ours in Mardi Gras.
Is this something recent or has there been a movement in opposition of the statues for some time now?

I have seen the requested list of what they want down in the future. I am not lying when I say it is everything named after a white person. De Gaulle and Joan of arc were on the list 
If the city goes ahead and listens and starts phase 2, I honestly have no clue why any white Larson would live in Nola. The city would be actively saying it isn't for white people
