re: Pretty soon no one will shop at Target - WHS
one of my wife's friends the other day was at the target in Covington and needed to change her little girls diaper. The family bathroom was occupied so she decided to use the women's bathroom. While she was changing the diaper she heard a mans voice come from behind her commenting on her daughter an...

re: What is the poorest you've even been? - WHS
My senior year in college, I was completing my student teaching (which if anyone doesn't know what student teaching is, it is like an internship that you don't get paid for) and my wife was in her Methods witch is like student teaching but not as intense. Neither one of us could work much but I had ...

re: Cursive Writing, Should this be mandated in elementary school? - WHS

re: 17 Years Ago the Columbine Massacre happened - WHS
[quote]I ALWAYS wondered and still do, why schools (to this day, crazy) did not install metal detectors or xray checkpoints across the board after this. The crazy thing about this (and the subsequent shootings up til now) is that to this very day, you could pack heat in your booksack, go to Any Scho...

re: Expat Oil Workers Fall on Hard Times - WHS
Its a fact, that lower gas prices boost the economy. People travel more and can afford to go on vacation which helps the economy as well as goods are cheaper to ship etc. I don't feel sorry for the oil field workers, they should have chose a job that wouldn't fluctuate so much if they were really wo...

re: TOPS is not worth more taxes---end it today - WHS
I tell my students who have to take remedial courses in college esp. math to go to a community college for a semester and knock those classes out and then transfer to a university. I think SELU has a 70% failure rate in freshmen and most of it is because the students cannot pass the remedial math, e...

re: TOPS is not worth more taxes---end it today - WHS
I am a high school teacher and I can tell you TOPS makes a big deference especially with kids who would be the first one in their family to go to college or for kids who think they cant afford it otherwise. I teach seniors and many of them now feel like "whats the point" because a majority of them w...

re: guns laws in Texas? - WHS
Thanks TexasTiger! I did a little research but what I found was confusing. on opencarrytexas.org it said this "Can I open carry in a vehicle? ?Yes. You no longer have to conceal your holstered firearm while in your vehicle provided you have a license. If you do NOT have a license, you WILL ...

guns laws in Texas? - WHS
I will be heading to Texas soon and I take my firearm with me where ever I go. I dont have a conceal and carry permit but in Louisiana I dont have to have one because our laws allows us to open carry or carry a pistil in our vehicle as an extension of our home without a permit. Is Texas the same way...

re: Annual White Privilege Conference in Philadelphia - WHS
Parents are the biggest problems in many cases. Kids with a lot of parental involvement are 9/10 times better students than students who have parents who could careless or have better things to do and that is in poverty households and "rich" households. If the parents arnt involved and care about t...

re: Annual White Privilege Conference in Philadelphia - WHS
I am a teacher and I have taught at an all black school and now I'm at an majority white school. The majority black school constantly has high teacher turnover rates and they lose anywhere between 5-20 teachers a year because they can't handle the discipline problems and culture of that school. In f...

re: Common Core: Student penalized--but her answer was right - WHS
Yea now many states such as Louisiana are trying to get away from PARC and CC to the point that the standards more reflect what the state wants. The problem is, many times it is non teachers or people who have never taught a day in their life coming up with the standards. ...
