A firearm free zone is feet not yards and the schools are just over 1000 feet from the road. The school zone refers to the road laws because of the kids, busses and vehicles that have to cross HWY 90.

Exactly.

In the Nola.com pic the perps truck had a handicap tag on the mirror. Maybe a older gentleman that has a mental illness.

This implies they all want to be a part of the apprehension because according to you they have the green light to shoot someone.

Don't try and back track on what you said.

Look dumbass, you're saying that i said two different things. I never said that no one would show up. I did say all cops want to be apart of it because they have the green light to shoot. There will be no controversy if cops unload on this guy if he looks at them the wrong way. Cops absolutely have the green light to fire at will. I also stand by my statement that your reading comprehension skills are pathetic.

Cops do not have a green light to shoot....

This is why we think you are a moron.

I was not arguing what the school zone meant, and some places the schools are not just over a 1000 feet from the roadway. I do not know the geography of schools along hwy 90, so I posed it as a question with an answer if the incident did occur within 1000 feet.

I misspoke on the yards, was in a hurry and did not check.

Since we have already determined you are a moron your opinion of this is irrelevant.

Thanks and have a good day.

1. Yes, you are a moron and yes, you are wrong.
2. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

Are you saying private citizens never get shot?

Are you assuming he was shot BECAUSE he was police?

We don't know if it has anything to do with him being a cop.

Not criticizing, I even had to double check the firearms fee zone laws and despite the fact I pass there nearly every day I went to google earth to measure the distance form the schools to the road.

And although the shooting of a law enforcement officer outweighs the firearm free zone, those rules are not irrelevant.

Horrible, and I hope he's ok.

Reminded me of those two deputies shot while directing traffic in St. John a few years ago.

How did this school zone not keep the perp from bringing a gun?

The school zone is to direct traffic. The actual area he is working is not on the school's property.

I get that.

Try taking a gun to one of those and see what happens.
