I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say here. ETA: I think a picture of Tony Montana as Scarface would be more appropriate....

re: Jimmy Carter: US Influence, Prestige, and Respect Have Declined Uunder Obama - OleWar
The USSR realized he was a clown and started expansionism.
This may have been a great talking point in the 1980s, but history has generally shown this to be untrue. Soviet "expansionism" was a result of their own political ineptitude and absurd internal Eastern Block politics....

re: Time for the right to accept the new morality - OleWar
Sixty is probably the ideal age for that. Beliefs have become so hardened by then that most are worthless. Unless you are a part of the minority who constantly evolves, learns and keeps an open mind not based on some archaic religious code
Sixty? Try 30. You have far too much hop...

I meant true in real life. Today's literature and cinema is generally full of lies. Shakespeare and tragedians who preceded him had it right....

I'll give you a Catholic Scholastic answer. Remember this is a combination of Nicomachean and Catholic Ethics. First Lust. Lust is an appetite that sways reason, when reason is upset, it does two things. First it causes problems in society and second on the cosmic level it separates ones conne...

re: Would your opinion about a gay/lesbian couple change if: - OleWar
all heterosexual couples have: shared activities, companionship, communication,
You must be a woman. Rarely do I hear a man think about these things when it comes to a spouse. Shared activities are things you do with your male friends, companionship=sex, and most men find communi...

re: Anyone here been to Ukraine? - OleWar
The steps are cool, but you should watch Battleship Potemkin before you go to appreciate them. The Opera House is worth it, if you like opera. I remember a pretty cool Naval/Maritime museum. It may be a little too cold to enjoy the beaches/sanatariums. Remember to order salo with your vo...

re: Older SCOTUS Followers: Scalia and Bork - OleWar
1986 was also a much different year then 1987- Two Words, Iran-Contra. The Democrats smelled blood. Scalia was before the 1986 congressional elections where the Democrats took back the Senate, Bork was after. Some cite the Italian factor which may have had some weight as well....

re: What if the homosexual divorce rate ends up being substantially lower? - OleWar
It is irrelevant. One of the key societal purposes of marriage for most of its history was to protect the wife and children, the rise in divorce is also mostly tied to the rights of women. So as silly and absurd as two queers "marrying" each other is the silliness and absurdity of them divorcing....
