Texas infrastructure is top notch for a southern state. The economy is diversified. However, the culture is diversified as well. Corrupt politicians are almost non-existent. DFW is the largest land locked metropolitan. I do think the BBQ is overrated.

for me it was the economy, plenty to do, roads are good. I feel safer than NO. Still close to La.
