Seriously, whats so great about Texas?

Why do people love this state so much?
-weather sucks
-other than a few select areas, the landscape pretty mediocre at best; downright shitty in most places
-no good beaches (with all that coast)
-southern part of the state is a war zone for illegals and drug trafficking
-home to the world's most hated football team
Someone's going to say:
No state income tax but you pay for it in property taxes, so that's a wash
Lake Travis but other states have places like this (lake havasu, lake of the Ozarks)
Great schools but also this isn't the only state with great public schools
The only answer I can think of is: BBQ

Well many people on here are originally from Louisiana. Living in Texas gives them the chance to enjoy the benefits of the state and still be relatively close to family back in LA.

cheap real estate. Go to any major city like LA,NYC and then tell me dallas and houston especially are not cheap as frick

Diverse economy , always updating road systems, not completely tied to oil and gas, can still hunt here, can cheer for 7 different professional teams, can make a shite ton of money, schools legit, no culcha in a majority of suburban areas, and that's all I can come up with at the moment.

You could say that about any state. Let's say Louisiana. Weather sucks, very little landscape, no beaches, any city over 10k is a warzone, home to worlds shittiest politicians, terrible schools, no pretty lakes, state income tax and shitty properties.

Texas is the most overrated state BY FAR. There is no close second.

Well yeah, but everybody knows Louisiana sucks. Texas somehow has a reputation as being a top tier state.

bc the good parts of houston/dallas take a dump on new orleans good parts. We dont allow culcha to spill over into the parts normal people go to in our state.
