One doesn't have to be born into the right family (or go to the right high school) to get a good white collar job in its major cities.

Smoking hot Latino chicks
Insanely cheap real estate

You very thread proves its greatness.

I have never seen a thread about "What is so great about Oklahoma?" or Kansas or Kentucky or etc. for about 35 states or so

Texas is kinda like California or Alaska, impossible to generalize in one statement.

Your experience in Texas varies greatly on where you live in the State.

-weather sucks

I mean, the weather sucks in 40 out of 50 states. deal with it.

-no good beaches (with all that coast)

-southern part of the state is a war zone for illegals and drug trafficking

And other states are battling meth and heroin.

Since sports is what life is about.

No state income tax but you pay for it in property taxes, so that's a wash

Since everyone owns their homes.

Lake Travis but other states have places like this (lake havasu, lake of the Ozarks)

Who talks about lake travis as a destination? People from out of state. Lake Travis doesn't even rank my top 25 places to visit in Texas just for the weekend.

Great schools but also this isn't the only state with great public schools

Texas' public school system is top 5 in the country, so there are only a few states that can compete.

Overall, you sound upset about living in Cutoff. Good luck man.

Note, this is coming from a guy who doesn't even live in Texas.
