This article came out a few months ago basically stating that entire world's armies couldn't effectively invade us.

Did not bother reading all of the intervening posts.

The U.S. has submarines that cannot be counter attacked sailing under the oceans of the world that can completely destroy the countries that you are speaking of.

They know it and it is all you need to know.

Can you imagine how long it would take to clear out every deer camp in the south?

And i read a book about spying during the 70s and 80s. I think it was a Japanese spy that said something along the lines of "invading USA would be 1 of the dumbest things any country could do because they have the biggest army in the entire world... made up solely of their citizens. There is a gun behind every blade of grass"

Assuming they found a way over, they'd roll through the soft pussified Northeast and West pretty easily but get stopped around the Mason Dixon line and Mid Texas. It's hard to imagine they'd have enough boots on the ground to both occupy any significant area and also fight to extend their lines.

It was a ridiculous question in the eighties when the Communists were at the height of their power. It's even more farfetched now.

Russia is using intimidation to get what they want. If one of these little neighboring countries calls Russia's bluff and they actually have to fight, they'll get a bloody nose. The Afghans and Chechens kicked their arse, the Georgians put up a good fight against them with a military about the size of the Rhode Island National Guard. You don't want to fight Russians when they're defending the Motherland. When they're on foreign soil, they're considerably less motivated.
