Best answer. This exact watch is on my list.

45.5 is just too big for me and most people. You have to be a big guy to pull that off.

Can't go wrong there. My birth year, '84, they made a matte dial 16800 Submariner that combines the good looks of the vintage ones with the Sapphire crystal of the newer ones. One day...

I'm 1984 also. The biggest problem, to me, on these older watches, and Rolex in general, is lume. My SKX007 blows the new subs out of the water. When I see that, I wonder what I'm paying for.

I do like the Marinemaster 300 also, but then again, 2k or a Seiko is crazy to a lot of people also.

No, not really. Plenty of watches out there 44, 45, even 47mm that wear easy.

I am screwed. 1973. One of the years they did the "Red Submariner" and SeaDweller. Big baller money needed for those.

It could be the seiko doesn't have tritium. Luminescent paint is brighter than tritium. Same on my guns. Night sites aren't as bright as luminescent.

Why a dude would spend more than $100 on a watch is mind boggling.

Why anyone would spend any amount of money on a watch in this day and age is mind-boggling. You can get the fricking time off of your phone!

Love to pick up a Grand Seiko Spring Drive. Seiko produces mechanical watches that are easily a match for Rolex and most luxury watch makers.

When's the last year they made the 'sapphire sandwich' for the speedy? I wouldn't get a manual wind watch unless I could see the beautiful movement.

This. Not to mention, there are people that would cut your hand off to steal a $5k watch.

Sure you can wear them, but the large majority come off as trying too hard.

For the money, Seiko is tough to beat in almost every category.

With his criteria I love the Omega Speedmaster or a Breitling. A Rolex will certainly hold it's value more but everyone who has money has one. It's so blah. I would check the sales corners of the major forums to see what's available

Yeah, I mean why would anyone buy a car instead of a motorcycle? All they do is get you from point A to point B.

Maybe everyone should just own a Vespa.

Why stop there, why does anyone buy anything for their feet besides flip flops?
