Yeah that sux, but like the other poster asked...why are they doing it? New devolpment? If so you may need to look into getting out cause your value just dropped.

The HOA is going to write letter to take down that birdhouse soon. If you leave it up it should be on the other side of the fence.

Highly doubtful...I live in what is probably the lowest crime area of the city. It's hardly Shreveport...I'm close to Southern Trace and all the mansions that surround it.

so I guess the next question is if you own the land all the way to the boundary?

if you don't, you might be shite out luck

if you do, you might have some ground to stand on

No, because you agreed to pay other people to make decisions for you regarding your property.

Maybe THAT is why the HOA wants to put up a fence.

I believe my property extends only as far as where my neighbors fence is. It may get hairy for them thanks to some of the smaller trees and brush. There are trees that are really on my side of the line that would stop them from putting a fence up. I would think they would not be able to remove them without my say so??

I'd rather look at trees than a fence. That being said, i have kids and a dog, so i have to have a fence.

Knew these comments were coming. I know I am not overlooking a national park here, but I happen to really enjoy that view...it's a simple pleasure of mine. The fact that someone is demanding that I pay to have that covered is bullshite to me.

there is going to be development behind you most likely and those woods are going away. you will appreciate the fence when they build a gas station 500 ft behind your house.

Put down the fork. Based on how fat your hands are, I bet you're about 5'7" and 240-lbs. Fatty.

As mentioned before, the woods are not deep and the way the surrounding land is set up there is no way anything would be developed in that space. It would be something that had to be shoe horned into a tight space with a wonky access road.

HOA's purpose is to prevent trash from moving into a neighborhood.

However, most HOA's are comprised of people on a power trip, getting off on telling someone what they can and can't do to their home, even if that improves the aesthetics of the house.

What's funny is the HOA's that have NO AMENITIES and then decide to up the dues, to have an outside company enforce the HOA regulations.

"Sorry, HOA, you can't put up a fence right here"
"Why not, Scott?"
"There's a big pond right there"
"No there isn't"
"There will be this evening"
