Confederate flag aside, I don't see how holding real rifles would make the image "disturbing".

frick those assholes. Holding the flag backwards is unacceptable. The metal grommets should be on the left side.

My guess is the kids could have posed with any number of Confederate flags other than the Naval Jack or Battle Flag and half of you would have had no idea what was going on.

It would have taken a miracle for the South to win. The North had substantially more men, guns & supplies. Not to mention who knows what would have happened had Lee’s battle orders not fallen into Union hands

No telling how that war would have ended had Pickett's Charge been successful. By 1863 the citizens of the North had become war-weary and wanted the war to come to an end. Had the Confederates won at Gettysburg, we may now have four nations on this continent.
ETA: I'm curious to know what would have happend had the French won at Puebla on Cinco de Mayo in 1862 and had linked up with the Confederates as Napoleon III had planned. Would that have drawn the British into the war on the side of the Union. Would royal alliances have started fighting each other in Europe?

Part of being in a free country is the freedom to make bad decisions. They didn't hurt anybody nor did they interfere with anybody's rights so they should be able to pose with this picture, no matter how trashy it is.

Personally, I would have never posed for that picture but it's really none of my business if they choose to.
Was there any THREATENING material that goes along with that picture.....such as "The South will Rise again" or "Watch out cause we are coming after you"?
