Is cursing around your kids indicative of trashy parenting?

I don’t mean the occasional slip up like when you bang your toe on furniture or something. I’m talking about people who routinely use profanity in the presence of their children.

I think it is, unquestionably. If my parents had talked that way around me as a kid, I’d probably have grown up to have less respect for them.

Raise your kids how you want. Cursing isn't the lesson that is going to ruin your kids. The other trashy shite you do is.

There’s nothing wrong with saying “hold the mother fricking light still”.

At this point some parents are consenting for kids to cut off their little pricks and wear a dress.

Cussing…. It’ll be aight.

I don't like it when I see it but I'm not a parent so I feel unsure about judging.

I think we were two miles from home, I said the word "shite" to my GF. He warned me if I said it again, I'd be walking. So I walked two miles home

I’ve dropped the eff bomb once in front of my kids.

Wife wanted something out of the back of the suburban and couldn’t wait until the next stop. So we pull on the shoulder of I-65 around 9 pm. While she is in the back getting whatever she wanted, a mid 2000’s Trailblazer passed us, stopped, and started backing up quickly towards us. I yelled, “get in the car!” Wife responds, “hold on, I’m trying to find something”. I respond, “Get in the frickING car now!!”

It conveyed the message she needed to hear.

I think it should be avoided as much as possible. That being said, tv and movies pile it on very thickly these days. Not to mention the general public having no filters at all anymore.

Same here and I’m 47. Also don’t curse in front of my kid, but the issue is what he learns at school and his after school care.

My dad was pretty prone to an "ahhhh shiiiiitt" but only when we were a little older. I've inherited that trait.

Like "sorry dad I threw my baseball through the front bedroom window" "ahhhh shiiiiitt"

I champion this, but, I will use four letter words while driving while my kids are not in the car, with great energy. Because F*ck your BS driving. Navy parents. Who would have thought I'd turn out like this?

The language they use to each other would make you blush in Junior High. They don't need your help, they have each other.
