re: British Impact on Rock N' Roll - Honest Tune
I would say most of them would credit their initial interest in rock and roll to listening to American blues men from the south, particularly the Mississippi delta. The Brits definitely put their spin on it, but most of them learned to play so they could play the blues like they heard on tiny rad...

re: Lonesome Dove: Gus McCrae, Jake Spoon, and noosed ropes tied to trees (SPOILERS) - Honest Tune
As others have said, none of the other mini series were worth much. Zahn did play a good Gus, however. You just can't beat Duvall and Jones in those roles....

Yea it's about the finest thing ever filmed in my opinion. Watching it brings back GREAT memories as a kid watching it with my grandparents. I think my grandmother had it bad for ole Gus, ha....

re: Has the NS housing market cooled off? - Honest Tune
It was essentially my "oh shit" box (jack, jumper cables, rope, etc). I thought about going and filing a report with Madisonville police, but, in the end, I figured it was a random garbage truck worker or someone of the like. Karma will even things out for the individual that stole it. I did, ho...

re: Has the NS housing market cooled off? - Honest Tune
Been living in Madisonville for a year now after 7 years in Nola. Love where I am, 2 blocks from the Piggly Wiggly, all the kayak fishing I could ever hope to do up and down the Tchefuncte, people are friendly and courteous in my neighborhood, etc. I have a 3 year old daughter still in sch...

re: How did Catholic High not win state in football last year - Honest Tune
There are more public schools, so I am inclined to believe that it's a possibility that they do. It surely does seem that privates always seem to recruit the 5* guys, however....

LHSAA put an end to the holdbacks. However, I doubt that they've put an end to private schools recruiting. Weren't Dunn, Minor and Guice a product of that kind of system? ...

re: The Lafayette shooter shares the same hometown as..... wait for it.... - Honest Tune
Phenix City, back in the day, was once a hotbed of illegal gambling, drugs, alcohol and prostitution. A HOTBED of seedy, ugly people. True story. Prolly a few nut jobs out of that area....

Yea I was thinking the same thing originally. My smart arse self had many comments in line, but I decided not to go that route. But it would have been something like this.... Stay away from my next thread titled "Shawshank: Could Andy REALLY build a tunnel to escape and hide it behind girly post...

re: How did Catholic High not win state in football last year - Honest Tune
It's a North LA vs South LA thing I guess. The scary part is, of the 96, 97, 98 WM teams, the 96 team may have been the least talented. Let that sink in for a tic....

re: Lonesome Dove: Gus McCrae, Jake Spoon, and noosed ropes tied to trees (SPOILERS) - Honest Tune
Great scene and great line. I believe that same actor was a drunkard/quasi bad guy in a Superman movie. He nailed the role of Dan in LD. He was the only person they encountered on the drive that died and didn't get buried, if I remember correctly. McCrae and Call knew how to send a message. ...

Yea it pretty much just goes to show you he had been with many a whore to the point he couldn't remember one from the other. It actually hit Gus pretty hard when Jake spurred that horse. ...

re: Lonesome Dove: Gus McCrae, Jake Spoon, and noosed ropes tied to trees (SPOILERS) - Honest Tune
I Didn't know that! I only read LD. Yea the actor they cast to play Pea Eye would never in 40 cattle drives have a shot at Diane Lane! And yes Dish, while a hoss hand on a cattle drive, never had a shot. She never really even wanted to turn one for him for money when she was a whore. Guess som...

re: How did Catholic High not win state in football last year - Honest Tune
I was listening to that game on the radio. I lived in Monroe that year. West Monroe had some big, big dudes all up and down their lines, both OL and DL. That was the difference. They abused teams at the lines. Minor was a great HS running back (had a Joe McKnight type college career in my opini...

re: Lonesome Dove: Gus McCrae, Jake Spoon, and noosed ropes tied to trees (SPOILERS) - Honest Tune
Pectus, Jake Spoon was the rake and rambler that rode into Lonesome Dove at the beginning with Deets. He had accidentally shot July Johnsons brother in a bar altercation in Arkansas, and was running for his life. His luck led him to Deets. He was a former Ranger with McCrae and Call, but nev...
