Some of the smartest people I know curse like it's punctuation.

I also know complete dumbasses that drop "ded gummit" or wtf ever.

No correlation.

my kids have heard me curse but only in certain situations.....we dont use curse words casually

At a sleepover once, my son was shocked by all the curse words, these parents used them in regular conversation. I’ll never understand that, but especially inappropriate around kids.

It's trashy just like smoking around your kid but it doesn't mean the kids won't turn out OK. There's way worse they could be doing than cussing.

I know folks who have good, respectful kids and they cuss like crazy around them. I know folks who are over the top about sheltering and say "dad gummit" and "awe heck" with kids who are lil pieces of shite.

Yes, but most people tell me they have never heard me use that sort of language.

I see there are at least 21 degenerates on this site who don't see anything wrong with cursing around kids.

Most likely people without kids.

They seem to have the most advice on how to properly raise your kids

There’s nothing wrong with saying “hold the mother fricking light still”.

I see a lot a kids these days that haven't had to hold a flashlight while their dad was working under the hood of a car and it shows.

I cuss in front of my kids, but I wish I did not. I'm trying to work on it but my son is fricking retarded some times.

how else will the kids learn to communicate effectively at school with friends and classmates? do you want them mocked for speaking plain English?

I yell “stop fricking fighting” and “stop jumping on the fricking couch” every single day

When they don’t listen the first 20 times you’re going to curse eventually.

I try to avoid the F word in from of my kids, but I have told my son plenty of times he is going to catch a whooping on his arse.

What I do know - my wife is a teacher (has taught at public and private) that elementary school kids have quite the potty mouth. They don't even realize it. They just sing some rap song that has the N word or F bomb in it. <- I think stuff like that is way more trashy than using profanity around kids.

cursing around small children is trashy.

my kids are older now though and in the right context, I think it's fine. it's not like every other word is a cuss word, but they've heard me say ffs a time or two.

and it's usually over something stupid they did

Always thought it was trashy, but I know a couple guys who aren’t trashy, that cuss around their 11 yo sons like they are in a college locker room. Kinda weird

Probably so. I don’t fart (at least intentionally and loudly) around my daughters either, because I have a little class.

I yelled, “get in the car!” Wife responds, “hold on, I’m trying to find something”

This shite right here. Women have become so empowered and mouthy that it will be their ruin. On the RARE occasion that they are given a stern command, instead of quickly complying and then waiting to find out what's up, their instinct is to snap back and bow up. Gotdammit, I NEVER talk to you like that, so if I DO, it's because something serious is going down and I need you to move your tits like your life depended on it.

One night my wife was in the bath and I walked in to get something. I looked over and a black widow spider was crawling towards her arm. I said "get out of the tub NOW!". She started to comeback with some shite and I basically grabbed her and snatched her nekkid arse out of the tub. She couldn't believe how forceful I was. I could see the rage starting to rise in her so I quickly pointed out the spider before then killing it. That shut her up.

I then took the time for both of us to calm down and then I explained to her that if I ever take a tone like that with her, it's because I need her to move first, ask questions later. I'm not at all a controlling or commanding husband. If I get that serious, shite's real.
