That’s a non starter around children if ever said in anger especially. A few well placed bombs for comic effect now and again is probably good for the bond. . Now that they are all in college it’s not a big deal and I sort of enjoy when they tell stories with well placed profanities. It just demonstrates they are truly comfortable and relaxed. I think it’s more important for the parent at any age to show some kind of restraint though.

Probably so. I don’t fart (at least intentionally and loudly) around my daughters either, because I have a little class.
I don't cuss in front of women period for the most part but especially not in front of my 3 little girls. People who cuss in front of little kids casually need the shite beat out of them. That's absolutely uncalled for. Now farting in front of them is a different story

I don’t mean the occasional slip up like when you bang your toe on furniture or something. I’m talking about people who routinely use profanity in the presence of their children.
I think it is, unquestionably. If my parents had talked that way around me as a kid, I’d probably have grown up to have less respect for them.
i dont think so to some extent. now if its in public and cursing at them...yea thats different

Keep projecting. Just because YOU do it, doesn't mean others do and that its normal.
Again, bullshite.
Your quote from page 2 of this thread:

Parents are letting their kids mutilate themselves now and yall are over here worried about words.
See, you judged parents who let their kids mutilate themselves. I happen to agree with you on that issue.
Welcome to the judgment club, sir.

That’s more indicative of your definition or standard of “smartest”. I rarely hear that sort of language from distinguished people in a variety of settings.

Smarter folks generally know how to use them properly and in decent company.
Stupid people dont understand the difference.

You can always find outliers, but generally, less intelligent people use more profanity when speaking.

Not trashy, at all.
Swearing is an art form, a way to accentuate and refine the meaning, or force, of other words. Do you think lawyers, doctors, executives don't swear? Most of them swear like drunken sailors when talking amongst themselves. I mean, for frick's sake, they're just words!
Swearing in front of your children isn't bad parenting, it's preparing their gentle ears for adulthood. There's nothing worse than a person who never swears...it's a trait of weakness, imo. You can't be scared of words and hold much credibility in my eyes.
Did I allow my kids to swear in front of me before turning 18? Some, but I'd always throw out a "whooaahhh" or something to indicate they aren't adults yet. Now that they're grown? They cuss like sailors and I'm fine with it.

Cursing in general just tells me you aren't smart

Don’t worry. I fart in front of your 21-year old daughter all the time. She’s used to it.
