I live on a side street about two blocks away from Sherwood and Goodwood. I have lived at my home for about 8 years now, and have no intention of moving.

My neighbors are great. All the surrounding homes are Middle Class/Upper Middle Class families or retired people. My street is super quiet and there's constant patrols at night by BRPD working details for the Sherwood Forest area.

Sherwood Forest is a pretty large subdivision, but my little slice of Sherwood has done very alright by me.

Houses that were flooded in Sherwood Forest have been completely remodeled are now selling for $100 square foot

I've mentioned this before. I have a contractor buddy who was redoing a lot of homes in Sherwood. I viewed one and it was nice as shite. He told me some of those houses sell within days. Actually thinks it's pulling buyers from other, hotter areas.

I wouldn't personally want the flood risk or the proximity to Flannery, but some folks will risk paying $250-280 for a brand new home that would cost double anywhere else. The area south of Goodwood and East of the old golf course still looks pretty nice to me. Lot of $$$ still in that area.

You don't have to convince me. I've lived in the mid-city, Tara and Goodwood area for about 10 years now and couldn't imagine living anywhere else in BR. I have friends who live in both Sherwood and Broadmoor and they all love where they live and feel safe.

I just think people come on here to talk out of their butt and or don't understand the cyclical nature of neighborhoods.

The OT has been predicting the downfall of neighborhoods south of Florida for over a decade. Not much has changed.

If anything, I feel like these areas are set to get even better. They are in a very central area of BR without the huge traffic nightmares further SE.
