I'm obviously biased because of what I do, but I think it's pathetic how the government treats anyone in the tech industry who doesn't play along. Sure, the guy was a drug kingpin in essence, but those guys don't get life in prison, especially if pushing is all they've done.

They've always done this, too. Edward Snowden can't even come back to the States, and he did something that was great for the American people. I think it's just fear of someone being able to hold them accountable for the shite they used to be able to hide and bury.

Damn, what a great read. This story has it all. Makes you wonder how the author was able to get such detailed information from every side.

It was his fault that he got caught. It is his fault that he didn't take a plea. It is his fault that he tried to have people killed. He knew he was facing life with an abundance of evidence against him. It's not the government waging war on the tech industry. He was beyond arrogant and possibly a sociopath. I'm not sure how anyone can feel sorry for him.

I am very surprised at how many posters in this thread feel that this fellow was treated unfairly because he received a life sentence. A lot of you are even griping at the government and/or the judge.

There are many crimes for which life imprisonment is given - not just murder. If you really don't think this fellow's behavior was atrocious and deserving of a life sentence, then you aren't the kind of person that I'd like to know. I won't miss you. If you are just aping everyone else's "outrage" because you think that's cool, then you're just an idiot.

Do you realize he tried and actually thought he had 6 people assassinated? Roll your eyes but that sounds like a pretty dangerous person to me.

agreed.

he committed crimes. was involved in some really shady shite and profited off of it.

there are a lot of criminals out there that if they just used their effort and intelligence in something legitimate they would find success.
