re: Dell or HP? - ILikeLSUToo
The same company that makes the mobos for Dell also make them for HP, Lenovo, Toshiba, Apple, etc. Bad luck is bad luck. Every brand has its fair share of horrible anecdotes....

re: What pocket do you carry your wallet in? - ILikeLSUToo
I actually don't carry anything in my back pockets. Don't have a designated side, but I generally keep my phone separate from keys and wallet....

re: Need help finding compatible RAM for laptop, plus a couple of other SSD ?'s... - ILikeLSUToo
if anyone knows if there is just a 6gb stick in there right now, or 2 x 3gb sticks?
Neither. It's gonna be a 4GB and a 2GB stick. If you want 16, you'll be replacing both sticks. If you want 12GB, toss the 2GB and add an 8GB. Mirroring sizes is not a big deal in this case. Capacity...

re: Need help finding compatible RAM for laptop, plus a couple of other SSD ?'s... - ILikeLSUToo
Yes, 2 x 8gb max. That SSD will be compatible. Honestly, the SSD will make a world of difference, but the RAM won't hurt if no one has yet to take the time to clean up launch programs/initial bloat. It's pretty crazy how much RAM some of those machines use out of the box because of all the vendor/ma...
I use vue, we love it. It's the antenna I'm struggling with.
Not picking up the right local channels? My dad's been staying at my house while he helps me rebuild and he bought a $25 antenna, says he couldn't get the channels he was looking for. Not sure what that actually means a...
People really are expecting too much out of Google. Do they have a lot of resources? Yes. Is their goal to satisfy consumer needs? No. Their goal is find new ways to monetize you. You are their product. Look at GBoard. There is a reason it exists on iPhone and not Android. It was built...

re: Is there any major reason not to switch to Android? - ILikeLSUToo
Yeah, the CPU is showing its age in a few games for sure. Other than that, it's still running smoothly. I wouldn't mind a slightly smaller screen so my thumb could reach the other side comfortably. You wouldn't want to consider the Marlin? It's the larger of the two but is going to be a 5.5" screen ...

re: Looking for Laptop Advice - ILikeLSUToo
MSI, ASUS, Sager, Lenovo, Gigabyte, all fine. As a start: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16834234299 Top end of your budget and lacks an SSD, but probably the best gaming performance you'll get out of a laptop for your money. I'd swap out the HDD if I were you, but I know ...

re: Is there any major reason not to switch to Android? - ILikeLSUToo
I wasn't planning on getting this one, but I may do it anyway. Dropped my Nexus 6 the other day, waist height, landed on a corner on my floor (which is currently concrete) and broke the glass. First smartphone glass I've broken in 9 years. Bothers the hell out of me even though it still works. Moto ...
The ecosystem - Worlds better than the mismash of different tools you have to use on Android to achieve the same thing. I might be forced into getting the new Pixel phone. Dropped my Nexus 6 and made three big cracks and a shattered corner. Still works, but annoying. And the fricking LCD assemblies are $150 minimum. Not really worth fixing I dont think....
