re: PC Discussion - Gaming, Performance and Enthusiasts - ILikeLSUToo
I'd just decided to replace it Sunday night, so it would've been too late anyway. Just need to give my loop a little more cooling power without turning up the fans too much. They are gentle typhoons, and if I can keep them at about 1000rpm, they are near silent. But my CPU is getting into the mid-...

I'd just buy an external DVD drive and not limit your case options. Corsair 450D might give you the room for a 360 rad and optical drive....
Is one of the XPSC kits pretty decent? Looking at one with the Ion Pump/Resi because it seems to be a decent size to fit in my case without much issue.
Yeah, a Raystorm kit from XSPC is decent. The Ion pump is perfectly fine for a low-restriction loop (i.e., one block and one ra...

2100 is pretty much it for 1080 tis, with or without water. I haven't tried overclocking mine individually though to see if either will hit 2100. ...

re: PC Discussion - Gaming, Performance and Enthusiasts - ILikeLSUToo
Got blocks on them yesterday. I don't think 2200 is typical. Based on what I'm reading on OCN, good cards will hit 2100. Mine do 2050. Haven't messed with a custom bios yet though. Voltage limited to 1.093 right now. I'm replacing one of these alphacool ST30 360s with an EK coolstream EX 480 this...

With some overclocks. CPU is at 5.1 right now, 3.344v. Still haven't honed it in, but good to know it'll break 5.0 without much trouble....
The card would also still be on it's way!
No doubt. I had to order my DDR4 from newegg and it was the holdup for the entire build. I also had to get the cryorig cooler from there for the media server. Bit of a pain to mount on 115x, but definitely a good cooler. I also repl...
I'm no expert on caps by any means, but I would think at stock settings the card would still work fine. Did you try testing it at stock?
It still artifacts at stock. But even if it didn't, that would not be acceptable (unless of course I'd bought it from a scrutinizing asshol...

re: 4K netflix - ILikeLSUToo
Yeah you probably won't notice a difference between 4K streaming and 1080P at that distance/size. UHD Blu-Ray might show you a difference. Depending on what view distance/size chart you look at online, general recommendation would be 70"+ at 10 ft. view distance in order to notice improvement in 4K ...

lol, card is starting to artifact today. Been using it heavily (still air cooled) in my media server playing titanfall 2. Overclocked it a little as well. Finally starting to show signs of death. Glad I have another one coming tomorrow. [img]https://i.gyazo.com/d79ffbea8b487580b1cc5f0451a4496c.j...

Sure, but I have plenty of time. I thought Amazon was still out of stock but just noticed Amazon has it in stock again, so I went ahead and ordered another one. I'll start the return process when that one arrives. I'm still going to finish my loop tonight and just replace that card this weekend. ...

Yeah... It's amazon so it will be easy. But god dammit I was set to do my entire loop tonight. I'm going to proceed. I'm going to be overclocking and testing heavily over the next several days so I'll know if it's an immediate problem. Might ask the folks at overclock.net and see what they say. ...

Trying to get the cooler off one of 1080 Tis using an improper tool, I accidentally snapped off a teeny tiny SMD capacitor from the back of the card. I need a smart person to tell me what that capacitor does. My card still seems to work fine.......
