Someone told me that The Big Mamou on Studewood closed. I loved that place when we lived in the Heights. :wah:...

re: How to invest? - 401k vs Roth /Both - lsugradman
You can contribute to a tIRA no matter how much money you make. You can't deduct that on your taxes over a certain income
Yes I know that. That's the boat I am in.
But your money will still grow tax deferred and be taxed at your retirement bracket if you choose.
...

re: How to invest? - 401k vs Roth /Both - lsugradman
You can use a traditional IRA, and make pre-tax contributions, regardless of income
Not necessarily true. If you have an employer sponsored retirement plan you can only deduct traditional IRA contributions if you make less than 72k if filing single or 119k if filing jointly. [lin...

re: Sam Spiegelman's Crystal Ball - lsugradman
Theres like a 1.2% chance a college football player could have the time to complete a PETE degree at LSU or UT. Its a 5 year program and is not an easy curriculum by any means....

re: No Reason for Smith to go to Bama - lsugradman
Because they are Bama and also one of his mentors Sam Petitto is there. Although there was a time it looked like he (Petitto) might be headed back to his home state of Louisiana, that is not the case anymore....

re: Sam Spiegelman's Crystal Ball - lsugradman
His take on the Mac Rowe kid is pretty ridiculous. Rowe is trolling pretty hard with his "finalists" list and Spiegelman is acting like he is some prized recruit....

re: How to invest? - 401k vs Roth /Both - lsugradman
If you think you will be in a lower tax bracket in retirement than you are now, its advantageous to put more into traditional 401k. If you expect your tax rate to be higher, then it benefits you to take the tax hit now in a Roth 401k. Predicting my tax bracket 25-30 years from now is not something I...

re: How to invest? - 401k vs Roth /Both - lsugradman
A couple big benefits of the Roth 401k is there are no income limits for contributing and you aren't limited by the $5500 limit of a Roth IRA. The contribution limit for Roth 401k is 18k combined between traditional and Roth 401k contributions. My company offers traditional and Roth 401k and ...

re: Investing while living overseas - lsugradman
I live overseas and put a couple grand into the market every month. I also am not eligible for the Roth IRA but my company has a Roth 401k that I invest in. Also put supplementary funds into a traditional IRA since I've been living overseas. Haven't done the backdoor route into a Roth IRA ye...
