Edit: Sorry, man.

I don't think either of your sons would want you to feel this way about their passing and I've known several people who did end it all. It might have helped themselves but it sure made a bad situation even worse for those left behind.

Thanks all. Some great folks here. Some not so good. But that is the OT. Some asked me to reach out to them. I will do so.

I'm so sorry for you losses.
If grief is the issue weighing on you the most, there is a great book called "on death and dying" by Elizabeth kubler ross.

It is only 80 pages but really explains the stages of grief and coping. It's a very pragmatic approach to a overwhelmingly complex emotion.

They're a handful of posters that have lost young ones like us on the OT. You will end up getting to know who they are and it's refreshing to know other people know how you feel. It's horrible that others have to endure the same pain but it's good to have some support when you fall.

I've buried two of my sons.

I know your pain. I've buried one. Passed in my arms. Tragic accident. In that moment I knew I was going to kill myself. I've been reading and searching everywhere for peace. A peace I fear will never come. But one thing I read said this.."our wise father in heaven knows when we need things. Don't run out ahead of him. When the time comes that some of us will have to die, you will look into your heart and find the strength you need-just in time."

I cry everyday and see the world through different eyes now. I still have a lot of pain in the present. You have to hang on. I have other small children and wife that I know their worlds would crash if I left this world. But also try to think of the love you may miss out on if you go. I'm sure there are those that care and need you.

I believe in something bigger. Find faith in your purpose. DO NOT give up! "Memories are not the key to the past, but to the future. The experiences of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work he will give us to do."

HC, I am sorry to hear this.

And you are correct, there are people willing to help.

Several years ago I was dealing with depression and anxiety. When I had my first anxiety attack, I thought I was having a heart attack. After it happened two more times I decided I needed to go to the doctor. At that time, I was also in a state of depression. The way I felt, there was nothing that someone could tell me that would make me feel better and I made myself feel worse. There were days when I would lay in bed more of the day and the fact that I didn't accomplish anything or wasn't in contact with anyone just made it worse.

I had to force myself to get up and get out, but after I went to the doctor. It took a little while but I got things sorted out. I can imagine what this guy is going through, but it does get better. Take advantage of the thread and contact those who are offering. You can contact me, but I am sure the others can help much better than I can.

And to the people who are being complete assholes. I know this is the OT and things are rarely serious around here, but when it comes to something like this, you really have no idea what type of meaning your words could have.

Ted, I had a major problem with my son about 2 years ago and posted on the OT. Many people offered help. I actually reached out to one and He helped save my son's life. I am eternally grateful. Please reach out to one of these guys. Or somebody. Professionals are helpful in these situations.
Praying for you.

Having those thoughts terrified me. Luckily I didn't act on it and told someone I needed help. I did end up in the ER and then spent a week in a behavioral hospital. It was worth it. It forced me to talk about my problems and showed me how many people cared about me.
