I'm just saying that kind of advice will often provoke the exact opposite reaction you yourself are going for. I'd bet over half of all cases of depression has to do with a partner situation, whether it be conflict, breaking up, or complete ineptitude to find one.

Heartbreaking

But you know they wouldn't want you to do anything rash behind it.

Well, shite that's not something a parent should ever have to go through. I'm sorry for your loss. What sort of treatment have you sought to battle these massive traumas?

No one on this site is going to know how it feels to go through that, but there are people out there to to talk to and that can help. I'm sure your close family members would love to sit and talk with you if you reached out to them. Hell people on here would do the same. Hang in there man.

Think about it all the time lately. Just keep moving the ball forward, and try to bury yourself in work until things clear.

Or start working out, running, cycling etc. Same concept, but better for you.

But seriously, if you haven't done it, go on a week long retreat with people who have suffered like you have. They are out there. You can find a network to help you through this. It's not here on the OT since most of us are in our 20s and 30s and haven't lost kids. Look it up and apply to it as soon as possible.

Stop being Emo, seriously. There are families out there this weekend remembering their sons or daughters who would give anything for just one more hug, kiss, or conversation.

From previous posts, he's been through this.

I am very sorry for your loss. Three of my friends have buried their children, two of them were "only" children. Very tough but it does get a little better with time. Just know you will have good days and bad days. Please try to find somebody to talk to. Sometimes hospitals have references. Again, I am so sorry.

I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I always said if something happened to my daughter, I would be back in Iraq and wouldn't come back.

Hang in here brother.

I was unaware.

If you legit need someone to talk to, need to get away, say the word and I'm here for you. I am mourning a friend lost in Fallujah (no where the same), and am available to talk you through this day or night.
