Actually, EBRSS has announced parents can swing by and pick up breakfast and lunch.

They did this when schools were closed for Covid as well.

I’m in magnet and love it when school actually is in session.

If someone has a car and can drive to pick up meals, I don’t see how the food distribution centers do anything productive. If you can afford gas you should be able to make a sandwich. Give me the $$ you would spend on cafeteria workers and I’ll make jambalaya a for the school.

If they try and do another virtual year, I may leave the country

so everything is in such disarray that schools are closed on Monday, but the good Doctor Narcisse says it will all be back to normal 24hrs later?

I smell some BS.

Easy answer, but hard to do. The Supreme Court overturned abortion ruling so I suppose anything is possible. This however wouldn’t be quick and politically a bigger hot topic than roe v wade.

Yep.

If they can walk to school, buses aren't necessary.

I feel like there’s a very high chance EBR will go virtual. Sito already said there’s no money for raises in this years budget.

There is no way, is there?
I would think hybrid schooling would be the answer. Kinda of like shift work!!!

Or just cut back on busing. That's the real issue.

If you really cared about your kids, you would get them the frick out of the LA public school system and put them in private.

So if you cant afford private education you dont care about your kids? Should couples living in Louisiana just not have kids until they can afford a private education? If you or your spouse lose thier job or have some other financial crisis that makes it impossible to afford private schools....does that mean you dont care for your kids?
If your kid goes to a great little magnet school that is attracting parents away from private schools and you send them there...does that mean you dont care for your kids?

You sound like someone who has a very limited perspective on life.

I keep hearing this statement. There are neighborhood schools. The folks in the neighborhoods dont use them. There isnt forced bussing/deseg anymore. The damage that was done during that era still lives on though.

I am very curious if they go optional virtual what attendance would be. Virtual if your kid can’t make it to school without bus and/or you can’t pack a lunch.

We had to move from BR to Ascension when my daughter started kindergarten. There was a public elementary school 2 BLOCKS from our house that she would not have been able to attend. Just because there is a school in your neighborhood doesn't mean your child will go there.
