The pandemic was an accelerant. But people have been moving from all of these overpriced, overpopulated, past their prime cities. Where is the next greatest city that we’re not talking about. And I don’t wanna hear the lazy answers like Austin or Miami.

Skyline pics too:
Raleigh

Wichita

Wichita has potential but locals hate the city so fricking much (I wish I was lying) it’ll keep it from being great. Every time anything good happens (see our new minor league stadium/team) people do nothing but shite all over it. They’re just so locked into “oh this is the way it’s always been” or “lol why are they doing this Wichita sucks. It’s gonna leave/die anyway.” Quite frustrating.

I mean no it’s not some Mecca of entertainment/culture but Wichita could be incredibly nice. It just sucks when people try to do good things and it just gets shite on by everyone.

We have a surprisingly big gang problem too. Most of it is confined to specific areas but it’s still a problem

Too late. The hipsters have already discovered Bawcomville. Mangham is where you want to be.

I remember visiting Wichita 9 or 10 years ago & they held prom on base because of gang activity.

So much of the population is just there temporarily, I think it’s hard to make much permanent change.

The weather in Wichita sucks. It’s a no go for me.

I think Tulsa is more likely. Or Lawrence.

As I get older, I understand and sympathize with this mindset more. Urban expansion brings lots of problems with it and a lot people would much rather less perks if it means less problems

Feels like Raleigh has been a “hot”” city for 20 years now.
