Gave up 2011 2nd round and 2012 1st round picks for Mark Ingram

Don't care about any of this

2-63 Reuben Randle-WR
4-124 Ron Brooks-CB

Still no issue

2013 1-18 Eric Reid-S
5-138 Tharold Simon-CB
6-194 Spencer Ware-RB

Still no issue, I know some would like Reid

2014
2-55 Jeremy Hill-RB either way
2-63 Jarvis Landry-WR 3-92 no issue, many would love him here though
Trai Turner-OG 6-178 yes please
Zach Mettenberger-QB 6-181 no issue
Alfred Blue-RB 7-239 no issue
James Wright-WR no issue
Gave up 2014 1st and 3rd round picks for Brandin Cooks I am so tired of this ridiculous math. Yall make it as if we lost 2 picks. He was still a 1st round, so you are saying we lost out on a 3rd? Okay. I like Cooks enough.. If Odell had been there I would have wanted him, but that wasn't an option.

2015
3-88 Danielle Hunter-DE/OLB Wanted him over either Grayson or PJ Williams.. (neither have contributed much, but I guess time still can tell) The Saints typically like taking high talented guys with potential in this spot..
4-124 Kwon Alexander-LB would want, we would need our 4th back though
La'el Collins-OL this really is a huge issue. how do you not take him with your last pick.. I understand all the others passed as well, but come on.. lock him up. He was a great character guy at LSU. Was worth the risk at this spot.

Why did you stop with these? What about Tyrann Mathieu?

Its proven the saints are at their best when balanced

Ingram has massively improved his pass catching game and become a complete back

They also had to go to the street to find RBs in 2010

Yeah. After their rookie seasons both looked like future pro bowlers but both have fallen back down to just decent/good.

I only put players that the Saints had picks before in that round or later. Saints didn't have a 2nd round pick and their 3rd round pick came after he was drafted.

Kelvin Sheppard, Joe Barksdale, Reuben Randle, Eric Reid, Jarvis Landry, Trai Turner, Kwon, La'el, and potentially Hill and Hunter would start on this team.

For the CB's and RB's they are of equal or better value than the Saints have drafted and my point was they moved up a lot for CB's when these were available in times they could have taken them.

For La'el the Saints had every advantage here and didn't take advantage of instead using the 13h pick on Andrus Peat instead of someone like Marcus Peters who was defensive rookie of the year and a top position of need.

The whole concept is that the Saints basically have a minor league system an hour away that turns out talent only a few college teams can match or come close to and it is of no use to the them it seems.

Randle is trash. Collins didn't want to be here and was obviously some background stuff going on with his case. Get it out of your system.

I look forward to your next 120 threads where you examine this exact same premise with every other major college football program.

Thanks for the new and original topic on this board.

Have you seen the Drew Brees sports science video?

.

If they were of equal value than what would be the point of wanting them other than the fact that they're LSU players. Even the better value thing is stupid. Reid has hardly been better than Vaccaro who by the way graded out in the green last season according to PFF while Reid didn't. Not to mention Reid has had several concussions already.
And there were many teams that passed on players like Landry because they didn't know how good he was going to be. This is where the whole hindsight is 20/20 comes in.
You just want these players just because they played for LSU even though only a few of them could actually contribute significantly.

Get this through your head...THE SAINTS HATE F@CKING LSU PLAYERS AND WOULD RATHER SUCK AND LOSE GAMES THAN DRAFT ONE SINGLE SOB FROM BATON ROUGE".

Got it?

More like about 10 with some unknowns from this year's draft. It doesn't make sense that he's avoiding them, but it is kind of an uncanny coincidence.

LSU has the most players in the NFL. Whenever a player especially from Louisiana goes to LSU and then say go to the Saints they are playing for more than what they may be elsewhere. LSU, Saints, and Louisiana are very prideful (probably more so than anywhere else) and I think it should be taken advantage of. I still hope Mathieu returns to the Saints one day. But until then all out on Fournette in 2017.

This is one of those lies that fans tell themselves. It has no basis in reality. At the level of the NFL this means nothing. If a player needs some motivation like this then he never was going to be successful at the pro level anyway.

People like you are truly retarded.

How many schools are there in the country? shite, we are looking into Canada and Germany now.

253 players drafted, hundreds more as UDFAs. What percentage of all of those players are LSU? An extremely tiny percentage?

The Saints have no allegiance to LSU. If they have an LSU high on their board, they will pick one. Otherwise they are looking at hundreds of other players.

You're clearly not a Saints fan, you're an LSU fan trying to translate that fandom to the Saints. Either that, or you're too naive to understand how the NFL works.

The Saints don't actively avoid LSU players. They simply draft who they think fit into their team and system at the time. Just because a player is good at LSU doesn't mean that they will be good in the NFL. And even if they are good in the NFL, that doesn't necessarily mean that they would be good on the Saints or fit into the Saints system. The Saints absolutely SHOULD NOT look at LSU as their minor league system. The Saints, and all other NFL teams, should look at college football as a whole as their minor league system.
