re: The Saints are losing 4.5 million in cap space. - bonethug0108
Just a heads up the figure still isn't counting Byrd. He should be saving $3.2 mil now and another $4.6 mil in June (for $7.8 mil total). So this doesn't affect anything we were going to do, and it was likely already known by the Saints since it was a cap loan....

re: Why I think we shouldn't trade for Malcolm Butler - bonethug0108
Pretty sure bouye would have signed with us over Jacksonville.
Except that it was down to us and Jacksonville and he picked them, so no. And the Pats snatched up Gilmore. That left us with no great options. They had older corners (and people are bitching about 27, yet som...
On who?
That was my whole point also. Who do we spend it on to help us win now? And everyone saying we should have signed Gilmore or Bouye, you do realize we were in on one but that FAs get to pick where they go right? I mean we can't force them to sign here, as much as we ma...
I meant after the season. It was worded poorly
Gotcha. My bad. But he plays here healthy for 5 years and that won't be an issue. My bigger concern is the health of everyone who plays outside corner for us. Every single one gets injured....

re: Tre' White Scouting Report Video - bonethug0108
IF his projection is career nickel than no fricking thanks. We find nickel corners with ease while struggling to find and keep healthy outside corners (McKenzie, Porter, Greer, Lewis, Breaux, Williams?). They all seem to find a way to get significant injuries....

re: Why I think we shouldn't trade for Malcolm Butler - bonethug0108
You missed the point where we NEED to win this year to have a chance at keeping Brees. This isn't the year the cheap out. And if we do what you said and the rookie corner doesn't start or is just a complete bust that could hurt our whole defense, compared to having Butler who could potentially im...

re: Why I think we shouldn't trade for Malcolm Butler - bonethug0108
Who is left in FA this year to spend the money on? That ship has come and gone. Where are we still weak on this team right now? CB, rush end, and LB. Being that there weren't many top rush end options in FA that was always a need to be filled in the draft. We got a guy that showed promise one ...

Still looking through the rules but the guy was correct about that article being in there so I have to apologize some. BUT that is written in case the draft is moved and isn't 35 days or more after the start of FA. From everything I'm reading it's impossible this year for that article to come ...

Yeah where the frick is that info coming from? The deadline is 6 days before the draft, so it's literally impossible to sign him to an offer sheet two days before. Is that NBA rules or something? Anyway this is a GREAT writeup on the situation: [link=(https://www.patsfans.com/salary-cap/2...

And Chris Dunnels is an idiot. Let's not start using bloggers as credible sources. You always fail in those instances. They usually know less than the "expert" reporters. [link=(https://in2theleague.wordpress.com/2013/05/29/nfl-cba-series-restricted-free-agent/)]LINK[/link]
These draft ...

re: Malcolm Butler Instagram: "Nothing changed but the change", removes "Patriots CB" from bio - bonethug0108
While he technically has four weeks to sign the tender, both teams have until draft day to make the trade (when the pick(s) would actually be used). If Butler still refuses the Saints contract even after signing the Pats tender, the Saints would be crazy to trade for him without knowing he'd sign...

re: Malcolm Butler Instagram: "Nothing changed but the change", removes "Patriots CB" from bio - bonethug0108
Well he's wrong and spreading inaccurate info if that's the case. The whole point of the deadline being before the draft is so the team matching or declining knows EXACTLY what pick they are getting. It also HAS to be that team's original pick. So we can't trade 11 for say a second and a next ...
If the saints wait till a few days before draft and give offer sheet then the pats wouldn't get our number 1 till 2018.
That's not true. If we sign him to an offer sheet, no matter when it is (by the dealine of April 21st) then we give up 11 if the Pats don't match. The issue is...

re: Malcolm Butler Instagram: "Nothing changed but the change", removes "Patriots CB" from bio - bonethug0108
He's not waiting for another team to give him an offer. No team is going to sign him to an offer sheet (it would have happened by now) and I doubt the Pats break their handshake deal with us and trade him elsewhere (unless we back out). He's just waiting for us to offer more guaranteed money. We'...

RFAs get traded more often than being signed away. I'll have to look it up but being signed away is extremely rare (as far as 1st and 2nd round tenders go). They've had at least 3 trades since 2005 I believe....
