re: Cap Space - bonethug0108
Yup but they will likely be structured in a way that eats up less than $30 mil combined for all 3 players. Likely around $25 mil....

re: Cap Space - bonethug0108
The $38-$45 large free for 2017, does that bode well for Saints fans or is that the league-wide norm or, well exactly what?
It's way more than we've had in years and only the consistently bad teams have that much room on a regular basis. But we should temper this with the knowl...

re: Cap Space - bonethug0108
One of the board's gurus anyway. Thanks. We should have plenty of space to take care of who we want to with room left over for a few FAs. The quality of those FAs will more depend on cuts, paycuts, and extensions. As for this year this is our normal cap number heading into camp and the season....

re: Pass rushers wanted that never were - bonethug0108
For the second year in a row teams killed us with short passes all over and deep passes to our #2 CB. The short passes prevent a pass rush from forming. Hopefully this year Lewis, Breaux, Swann, and Ellerbe stay healthy and Laurinaitis and Robertson are really legit in coverage. Anthony should be...

re: Wow the Saints Top 25 passers is a depressing list (sans 1-4) - bonethug0108
Part of that is because though we've had good/great backs before, they never played for us for more than a few years. Thomas and Deuce are two of the longest tenured backs in our history. Ingram is almost there with them....

re: Bears land QB Connor Shaw after New Orleans Saints' email blunder - bonethug0108
I don't see the Bears taking a guy they didn't want just to block us.
It depends. Most of these guys clear through waivers so you don't need to "waste" your spot in the order to get them. So if the Bears thought he would clear they wouldn't waste their spot. Once they knew the S...

re: Wow the Saints Top 25 passers is a depressing list (sans 1-4) - bonethug0108
Now do this for every franchise. It'll be hard to find a team with 10 good passers. Most probably don't have 5....

re: Rita breaks silence: 'No matter what ... I'll still be a partial owner' - bonethug0108
None of that matters. There are ZERO voting shares in the trusts. She will NEVER control the teams. At most she'll collect a check from them....

re: Rita breaks silence: 'No matter what ... I'll still be a partial owner' - bonethug0108
She never had voting shares. Those were never in the trusts. As long as Tom doesn't will them to her she'll never have a say in team affairs. All she can do is collect a check....

re: No I.R. for Kikaha Yet - bonethug0108
If we wait he can be put on IR-Designated to Return. Iirc he has to be on the final 53 for at least a day to do that. But this will likely depend on what other doctors say and how his surgery/rehab goes. And I believe he can still go on PUP since this was pre training camp (and maybe from PUP ...

re: Kikaha tore his ACL? - bonethug0108
We'll see if some one unknown can step up,
Or someone known. Richardson did start for us last year. We have Fairley and Rankins who could swing outside at times too. Then there's Edebali and Gwacham who have gotten playing time, and Onyemata could be a factor. So plenty of known...
frick! What are we down to at DE now?
Jordan, Richardson, Edebali, Gwacham, Onyemata, Tull, and I'm sure Fairley and Rankins could rotate inside or out too....

re: Kikaha tore his ACL? - bonethug0108
wtf are we supposed to do now?
Richardson, Edebali, Onyemata, Gwacham, and maybe even Tull. We have a few guys there and I'm not sure he would have played more than 60-75% of snaps....

re: Preseason Position Battles - bonethug0108
Gwacham is a DE (same Jack spot as the others). I'd imagine Tull is too but I haven't seen anything definitively state that like the others. I'd put Tull in the Jack spot for now though. I don't see him making the 53 regardless. Seems like a prime PS candidate since he missed last year....

Edebali is a DE. He has the same role as Kikaha ("Jack" weakside end)....

re: Harper expected to join coaching staff when career is over - bonethug0108
Doubtful. We have two young safeties, a former pro bowler who may not even start, a low level vet that can maybe spot start, and camp bodies and rookies. The depth is not good. Harper at least gives us good veteran depth, leadership, and a guy who's started since coming in the league in 2006 (...
